摘要: The optimum reproduction of high-contrast motifs in digital imaging technology is limited owing to the limited dynamic range of present-day image sensors. The reproduction of high-contrast motifs is intended to be improved using active pixel image sensors. The sensitivity of the sensor pixels is adapted, controlled in an analogous manner to the blurred brightness distribution in the motif, to ensure that the dark and bright image regions of the motif are also reproduced, well illuminated, without any loss of detailed contrast. This results in a particularly natural and balanced image impression. This method may be used in numerous fields for digital image processing.

摘要: A process serves for recoating a deactivated catalyst coating of a catalyst for converting harmful constituents from the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, particularly in a motor vehicle. In this process, washcoat and/or noble metal compounds are sprayed by means of an aerosol into the catalyst. The noble metal compounds are subsequently brought into their elemental state by means of a reducing medium flowing through the catalyst, after which the washcoat applied is dried by heat treatment or calcination. In an apparatus for carrying out the process, a first line for a carrier gas and a second line for the washcoat and/or the noble metal compounds are provided. The first line is arranged at least partly in a region before the catalyst within the second line and at its ends nearest the catalyst is provided with an atomization device. The second line opens into the catalyst, with there being provided after the catalyst a third line which opens into a separator from which the first and the second lines lead away.

摘要: A transparency to be reproduced is positioned in register with copy material having respective sensitivity maxima in the blue, green and red wavelength ranges of the spectrum. An illuminating unit for exposing the copy material includes an array of cells such as an LCD. The density of each cell can be varied individually to thereby change the illumination intensity, and the densities are adjustable in such a manner that, in the spectral ranges corresponding to the neighborhoods of the sensitivity maxima, the density of each cell changes by approximately the same factor.

摘要: A strip of exposed and developed film has a series of exposures and corresponding exposure identification numbers. The strip is conveyed through a scanning station on its way to a printing station. The exposures and identification numbers are scanned in the scanning station to produce output signals indicative of density changes. The signals are processed to generate groups of data which are combined into a data set. Each group includes the position of a respective exposure on the strip, the identification number for the exposure and the position of the identification number on the strip. Film transport is carried out in such a manner that scanning of the strip and processing of the resulting signals are completed before arrival of the strip at the printing station. A control unit uses the data set to position the exposures in the printing station and to print the exposures. The control unit also uses the data set to mark a copy of an exposure with the identification number of the exposure.

摘要: Light containing blue, green and red radiation is passed through a colored original which is to be printed on color copy material. The transmitted light is spread out into a color spectrum which extends across a first wavelength range generally corresponding to the blue portion of the spectrum, a second wavelength range generally corresponding to the green portion of the spectrum and a third wavelength range generally corresponding to the red portion of the spectrum. The intensity of the transmitted light is measured throughout the spectrum and average of the resulting raw intensities are taken oer each of a series of wavelength intervals which are much shorter than the first, second and third ranges. The copy material has a gamma value for each wavelength interval and such gamma value represents the spectral sensitivity of the copy material in the corresponding interval. The average intensity for each wavelength interval is multiplied by the respective gamma value to yield a corrected intensity. The corrected intensities for each wavelength range are summed to generate first, second and third sums corresponding to the first, second and third ranges and respectively representing the blue, green and red densities of the original. The first, second and third sums are used to calculate the respective amounts of blue, green and red light required to print the original with a neutral gray density.

摘要: A photographic roller copier apparatus for photographing original copies having different side lengths onto a ribbon form copier material, the ribbon width corresponding to a desired copy size. The original copies have various formats and are provided in ribbon form, one format lying lengthwise in the ribbon direction and the other format perpendicular thereto. The apparatus consisting of a lens having an adjustable focal length so that from both formats of originals it is possible to make copies that are equal in size and that fill the width of the copier material ribbon, and that in the area of a picture gate the ribbon of originals is provided in a plane parallel to the lens axis. Between the picture gate end of the lens is provided a deflecting part which deflects the beams of light from the picture gate through 90.degree. into a lens. The picture gate with the ribbon of originals, the illuminating apparatus and corresponding film rollers is rotatable around the lens axis through 90.degree. to a smaller format position.

摘要: A device for use in connection with an electronically controlled photographic printer is described which singles out from an advancing band of original copies those which are unsuitable for reproduction. The device includes a splice sensor for indicating the end or the beginning of an order, a sensor of individual pictures in each order, and a quality (sharpness) sensor. A resettable counter is connected to the splice sensor and to the picture scanner to produce an output pulse after a predetermined number of pictures or after the beginning or end of the order. The output pulse is applied to a selection logic circuit which has adjustable sensitivity levels. The selection logic circuit is controlled by the quality sensor to produce a "print" or "non-print" output pulse applied to the printer-controlling electronics. The output pulse from the counter is controlled by switching means to adjust the sensitivity level in the selection logic circuit so as to either ignore the signals from the quality sensor or to adjust the selection circuit to a lower sensitivity for responding to the quality signals.

摘要: Apparatus for splicing exposed photographic films to each other and to flexible threading tape has a housing defining a dark chamber, a splicer which is installed in the chamber, advancing rolls which transport the leaders of films and tape into the range of and beyond the splicer, a knife for the tape, and punches which apply holes into the tape ahead of and behind the knife. The holes which are punched into the leader of the remnant of severed tape are detected by a first photoelectric cell which is located ahead of the splicer whereby the cell arrests the advancing rolls for the tape to insure that the leader is located in an optimum position for splicing to the trailing end of the preceding film. The holes which are punched into the trailing ends of severed tape portions are detected by a second cell which is located behind the splicer and serves to arrest the advancing rolls for a severed tape portion so that its trailing end is held in an optimum position for splicing to the leader of a film. The cells also monitor the films which are formed with holes similar to those in the tape. When a web of end of the rearmost film, is to be removed from the apparatus, the attendant severs the tape in a region close to the outlet of the housing. The leader of the remnant of tape is held by a blocking device in an optimum position for attachment to the core of a fresh reel for one or more webs of spliced-together films.
