摘要: An apparatus for and a method of prepping a surface of a cylinder bore using a pulsed waterjet entails generating a signal having a frequency f using a signal generator, applying the signal to generate a pulsed waterjet through an exit orifice of a nozzle having an exit orifice diameter d and a length L. The pulsed waterjet prepares the surface to within a predetermined range of surface roughness. The surface roughness is determined by selecting operating parameters comprising a standoff distance (SD), a traverse velocity VTR of the nozzle, a water pressure P, a water flow rate Q, a length-to-diameter (L/d) ratio, the frequency f, and an amplitude A of the signal.

摘要: A thermally highly loaded casting is produced. The casting mold is produced from a slurry using a wax model and a polymer foam which is fixed to the wax model or has been introduced into a cavity. In this way, during the casting process the liquid superalloy also penetrates into the open-cell structure of the casting mold, so that an integral cooling structure is formed during the solidification of the casting. A single-crystal or directionally solidified casting is advantageously produced. It is also conceivable to vary the cell size of the polymer foam, to produce a cooling structure and a base material separately, and to coat the cooling structure with a ceramic protective layer (thermal barrier coating).

摘要: An apparatus for inserting transport anchors into a form for concrete parts comprises a magazine for feeding the anchors, and a gripper for removing anchors from the magazine and inserting the removed anchors into the form. The magazine orients a target anchor vertically, and jaws of the gripper close upon an end of the target anchor. The gripper is then rotated ninety degrees about a horizontal axis whereby the target anchor is removed from the magazine and reoriented to a horizontal position pointing toward the form. The gripper is then advanced transversely of the axis of insert the anchor into the form.
