A disclosed image forming apparatus forms a toner image on a surface of a surface moving image bearing body and eventually transfers and fixes the toner image onto a recording medium to form an image on the recording medium and removes, by a cleaning apparatus, an adhered matter which is adhered to the surface of the image bearing body after the transferring.
