Abstract: A wireless communication method is described for managing packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) service data unit (SDU). The method can include receiving, at a first protocol layer of a first communication device, a first service data unit (SDU) and a second service data unit (SDU) for a source from a second protocol layer for transmission to a second communication device. The method can also include starting a first timer with a first initial value for the first SDU, and starting a second timer with a second initial value for the second SDU. The second initial value can be different from the first initial value in response to determining that the second SDU is to be routed differently from the first SDU to the second communication device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a random access (RACH) procedure is disclosed. Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing overhead in a random access procedure is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication node includes: transmitting first information to a wireless communication device; receiving a first message from the wireless communication device for an access of the wireless communication device to the wireless communication node; and transmitting a second message to the wireless communication device in response to the first message.
