    摘要: Method and apparatus in a steam generator that employs tube support plates within a shroud that is in turn disposed within a shell. The tube support plates are made of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion lower than that of the shroud. The tube support plates are aligned during fabrication, with minimal clearances between components. Using a tube support displacement system, a controlled misalignment is then imposed on one or more tube support plates, as the steam generator heats up. Displacement to produce misalignment is produced only when the steam generator is heated. The tube support plate displacement system has only one part, a push rod, which is internal to the steam generator shroud, thereby minimizing the potential of loose parts. The tube support plate displacement system can be used to provide controlled misalignments on one or more tube support plates, in the same or varying amounts and directions, and with one or more apparatus being provided for any individual tube support plate.

    摘要: A method is provided for successfully rolling co-extruded tubing into drums of a boiler bank. First, a co-extruded tube is provided, containing a carbon steel base tubing with an outer layer of high alloy tubing. Next, the outer layer of high alloy tubing is removed by machining in the area of the co-extruded tubing that is to be rolled into the drum. Then, the co-extruded tubing is swaged using multiple swaging steps and annealing treatments. The co-extruded tubing is swaged to the required diameter and wall thickness. Finally, co-extruded tubing is inserted, rolled, and sealed into the drums.

    摘要: A gravity feed, natural circulation boiler for an SAGD process using low quality feedwater for carbonatious material recovery, has a large diameter steam drum with downcomers. A furnace of the boiler has individually replaceable membrane wall modules, each with upper and lower headers and membrane roof, wall and floor parts connected to the drum and defining a fire box having an inlet end and an outlet end. The furnace includes a membrane front wall connected to the drum with a windbox upstream of the front wall. Burners at the inlet end of the firebox heat the firebox and riser pipes are connected between the steam drum and the upper header for supplying steam to the steam drum when the firebox in heated, the downcomer pipes being connected to the lower header for supplying water from the stream drum under gravity feed so that each module defines a single circuit. Furnace outlet screen bank and subsequent generating banks each with upper and lower headers and associated feeder and riser tubes complete the boiler.

    摘要: A support plate for retaining tube array spacing within a heat exchanger tube and shell structure. The support plate having a plurality of individual tube receiving apertures formed therein. Each aperture has at least three inwardly protruding members and bights are formed therebetween when the tube associated therewith is lodged in place to establish secondary fluid flow through the support plate. The inwardly protruding members terminate in flat lands that restrain but do not all contact the outer surface of the respective tube. These flat lands minimize fretting wear and eliminate potential gouging of the outer wall of the tube. The plate wall forming each aperture has an hourglass configuration which, inter alia, reduces pressure drop, turbulence and local deposition of magnetite and other particulates on the support plates.
