摘要： Apparatus for handling and unwinding round bales of loose fibrous material such as hay, silage and the like comprises a wheeled frame and a turntable mounted for rotation on the frame, the turntable being adapted to receive and retain a round bale such that a bale placed on the turntable may be unwound in a substantially upright position. The turntable may be pivotable from a generally horizontal bale transporting position to a generally vertical bale loading position and in the transporting position, the turntable may be tilted with respect to the frame, generally towards the point at which hay is to be unwound from the bale and dispensed from the turntable. The apparatus is particularly suited for use in narrow passages between animal houses.

摘要： A carrier for cylindrical hay bales is adapted for mounting on the box of a pickup truck. It includes a shaft pivoted in a support frame about a horizontal axis and a pair of bale lifting arms are mounted to opposite ends of the pivoted shaft. These arms can swing laterally for engaging and disengaging hay bales by means of bale piercing spikes at the outer ends of the arms. A hydraulic system is provided for swinging the pivoted shaft and bale lifting arms from a rearward position adjacent the ground to a forward position adjacent the truck body. For this purpose, two hydraulic cylinders with a special crank arm linkage are used with one of the hydraulic cylinders being capable of swinging the bale lifting arms through an arc of up to about 130.degree. C. and the second hydraulic cylinder being adapted to swing the bale lifting arms through an additional arc of up to about 70.degree. C. Alternatively, a chain and sprocket system driven by a hydraulic cylinder may be used. This provides exceptional versatility in the handling of the bales.

摘要： An apparatus designed to facilitate the unrolling of baled hay has a main frame mounted onto a tractor or other vehicle. An upstanding arm attached to the frame carries a hydraulic cylinder and piston assembly, which assembly supports and selectively positions an axle and wheel. The axle is positioned so that the wheel contacts a tire of a vehicle. As the vehicle causes the tire to rotate, the wheel is also rotated but in the opposite direction from that of the tire. The wheel is driven by the vehicle against a rolled bale of hay. As the vehicle is driven, the wheel abuts the bale of hay and causes it to unroll.

摘要： This invention relates to a combined vehicle-mounted carrier and dispenser for a cylindrical hay bale of substantial size and weight. An elongated finger-support member is pivotally mounted on the bed of a pick-up truck, a tractor hitch or other vehicle. The finger support member is T-shaped to retain a plurality of movable support fingers in cantilevered relation to penetrate and engage the bale. The finger support member is pivotally attached to a base member which is mounted on the truck bed. A power winch is located on said base member having a cable connected to the free end of the central arm member of the T-shaped finger support member. Tensioning means comprising a pair of aligned leaf springs is mounted between said pivotal finger support member and said fixed base member to maintain continuous tension on the cable and thus prevent any loose unwinding or unraveling of the cable on the power winch. The leaf springs further function to assist positive control of pivotal movement of the finger support member between its lowered and raised positions, both when loaded and unloaded. The mechanism includes a pair of similar U-shaped arm members with each arm having coaxially aligned pivotal leg portions and pointed tip leg portions adapted to axially penetrate the bale for its unrolling upon delivery to a feeding location.

摘要： A tractor-mounted carrier and dispenser for a cylindrical bale of substantial size and weight. The carrier includes a pair of cantilevered rollers spaced apart in parallel relation to hold a cylindrical bale thereon. The rollers are power-movable toward and away from each other to facilitate lifting a bale from the ground. The rollers are powered in rotation to rotate a bale thereon for progressively feeding hay from the bale onto the ground between rollers. The rollers are moved toward each other to continuously support the bale as it decreases in diameter. Controls permit the operator to vary the rotation speed of the rollers relative to each other to create a peripheral shreading or tearing action to enhance the feeding of the bale. The carrier of the invention is also readily capable of transporting a bale from point to point.

More particularly, the big bale handling apparatus includes an A-frame assembly resembling a boat trailer and having a bale connector means mounted thereon. The bale connector means includes a main support frame assembly having 1st and 2nd actuator arm assemblies mounted thereon, each having a bale connector assembly operable to grasp and hold a cylindrical bale member. A bale control assembly is operably connected to the bale connector means to control movement of the 1st and 2nd actuator arm assemblies in order to selectively grasp, lift, rotate, convey, lower, unload and unravel the bale member.

A two-wheeled trailer is provided with an elongated member having two or more shaft mechanisms rigidly attached thereto. A feed rack is connected to the trailer and is selectively movable between a vertical loading and transporting position and a horizontal feeding position.
