摘要： A feeder for cylindrical bales is of the tombstone type that is it includes a lower circular band defined by hoops and an upstanding sheet of material forming a skirt. U-shaped frames or tombstones are then attached to the outer frame and extend upwardly therefrom with the animal able to reach between the tombstone for grasping feed from a bale confined within the feeder. In accordance with the improvement of the present invention, the tombstones are bent inwardly and upwardly so that the animals front legs are confined outwardly away from the bale while the animal can reach over the inclined portion of the tombstone and through the vertical portion of the tombstone to the table. The animal is encourged to feed within the outer frame and thus any waste is deposited within the outer frame and cannot be trampled or spoiled. The animal is inhibited from pressing its shoulders against the frame thus reducing damage or breakage and excessive movement of the feeder. In an alternative arrangement a single sheet of metal is bent to define inturned flanges with apertures through which vertical rails project.

摘要： A manually operated implement for performing a variety of tasks when equipped with a removable and replaceable utility device, includes a wheeled chassis having an elongate, longitudinal, chassis structural member extending forwardly and rearwardly in the implement centrally of the width thereof and a transverse chassis structural member rigidly attached to the rearward end of said longitudinal chassis member. A pair of wheels are rotatably mounted at opposite ends, respectively, of the transverse chassis member. A slide member is mounted for sliding movement on the longitudinal chassis member and includes a clamping screw for clamping the slide in an adjusted position along such member. Handle structure, preferably of V-shape, is pivotally secured to the slide member and slopes upwardly and rearwardly with its upper, rearward end bifurcated to provide transversely spaced hand grips. A pair of crossed, elongate structural member sloping upwardly, from pivotal securement, respectively, at their lower forward ends to opposite ends of the wheel-mounting transverse chassis member, to pivotal securement, respectively, at their upper rearward ends to the handle structure intermediate its length, provides reinforcing for the handle structure. The height of the handle may be adjusted by adjusting the position of the slide. A variety of utility devices, such as a snow plow, scraper, weeder, etc., may be removably secured to the front of the longitudinal chassis member and provisions may be made to removably secure a variety of utility devices, such as a cultivator, rake, weeder, etc. to the implement behind the wheels.

摘要： Disclosed is a novel, portable, animal feeding station which provides livestock, at virtually any desired location, waste-free access to fibrous feed material in quantities heretofore unobtainable with a portable unit. Compacted fibrous feed is charged into a rectangular-shaped, variable volume hopper formed by a pair of upstanding stationary, spaced-apart, opposing end walls and a pair of movably suspended mesh-covered side panels. The side panels are movably suspended on sloping tracks mounted interior the end walls such that the panels are positioned by gravity against the confined feed mass. Feeding livestock are able to grasp the fibrous feed through the mesh according to their need, and in doing so forcibly urge the panel, along the sloping tracks, against the remaining feed mass. Thus, the livestock have continuous limited access to the outer wall of the feed mass, until the mass is depleted; but are unable to obtain unrestricted access to the feed which would enable the animals to scatter and waste it.

摘要： A feeding pen for haystacks that minimizes the amount of hay which is not consumed by cattle or other animals. The feeding pen consists of four sides, three of which are rigidly attached together while the fourth side is movable with respect to the others. As the animals consume the hay on the movable side of the pen, they push inwardly on the movable side to gain access to more hay. Additionally, animals on the other sides may move the rigid portion which is positioned upon skids.
