摘要: A method for continuously mixing a borehole fluid such as cement includes using a measurement of the solid fraction of a cement slurry as it is being mixed to determine the ratio of the solid and liquid components to be added to the slurry. A system for mixing the slurry includes a liquid material (water) supply including a flow meter; a solid material (cement) supply; a mixer which receives the liquid and solid materials and includes an output for delivering materials from the mixer to a delivery system; a device for measuring the amount of material in the mixer; and a flow meter in the output; wherein measurements from the flow meters and the device for measuring the amount of material in the mixer are provided to a control system which provides control signals to automatically control the amount of solid and/or liquid material added to the mixer.

摘要: A method for recovering usable material from waste concrete is herein described. Specifically, waste concrete is mixed with water containing hydration stabilization admixtures, forming an aggregate slurry. The aggregates are then removed from the slurry for recycling. The slurry itself is then used for mixing with additional waste concrete, during which time the density of the slurry is monitored and action taken to ensure that the density of the slurry remains within acceptable parameters. The slurry is then used in place of fresh water when preparing subsequent batches of concrete.

摘要: A method and apparatus for supplying gypsum slurry of predetermined concentration to a follow-on utilization device, such as an irrigation network. Slurry of a first higher concentration is prepared in a vessel using a vertically arranged mixer with power and drive components mounted outside the tank and a mixer shaft bearing an impeller and a propeller positioned inside the tank for immersion in the slurry ingredients. Rotation of the impeller and propeller causes the slurry ingredients to flow downwardly in the central region of the vessel, outwardly near the bottom towards the inner wall surfaces, upwardly of the inner wall surfaces towards the top and inwardly to the central region in a cyclic fashion to produce a uniform slurry. The slurry is withdrawn through an outlet in one of the tank walls and mixed with externally supplied water in a mixing chamber to dilute the slurry to a desired useable concentration. The added water is supplied via an adjustable flow meter to obtain the desired diluted concentration. Once the diluted concentration has been selected, a uniform concentration is maintained throughout the delivery cycle, regardless of the level of the slurry in the vessel.

摘要: A system for calculating and reporting slump in a delivery vehicle having a mixing drum (14) and hydraulic drive (16) for rotating the mixing drum, including a rotational sensor (20) configured to sense a rotational speed of the mixing drum, a hydraulic sensor (22) coupled to the hydraulic drive and configured to sense a hydraulic pressure required to turn the mixing drum, and a communications port (26) configured to communicate a slump calculation to a status system (28) commonly used in the concrete industry, wherein the sensing of the rotational speed of the mixing drum is used to qualify a calculation of current slump based on the hydraulic pressure required to turn the mixing drum.
