    摘要: A cylindrical quartz crystal transducer that exhibits a low probability of twinning, and uses a combination of resonator signal inputs at the B-mode and C-mode frequencies to calculate resonator temperature. Crystallographic orientations are disclosed where combinations of B-mode and C-mode resonant frequencies exist that are sufficiently independent of pressure to enable accurate calculation of temperature under transient conditions. Such a transducer is usable at higher pressures and temperatures than conventional quartz pressure transducers. Furthermore, because the structure allows a choice of crystallographic orientation, other characteristics of the transducer, such as increased pressure sensitivity and activity dip-free operation, may be optimized by varying crystallographic orientation.

    摘要: An electronic control system includes a microcomputer and a signal processing circuit, and receives output signals of an in-cylinder pressure sensor and a crank angle sensor. The output signal of the pressure sensor indicates an output voltage of a piezoelectric transducer and a reference voltage. The signal processing circuit includes a hold circuit and a differential amplifier circuit. The differential amplifier circuit amplifies a difference between the output signal of the pressure sensor and the output signal of the hold circuit and outputs the result to the microcomputer. The hold circuit switches over the output signals in response to a switchover instruction of the microcomputer. When the switchover instruction is a set instruction, the hold circuit holds as its output signal the output signal of the pressure sensor outputted at the time of receiving the set instruction. The microcomputer outputs the set instruction to the hold circuit in response to the output signal of the crank angle sensor.

All four oscillators are controlled by crystal quartz resonators operating in the thickness-shear mode. Two crystals measure the pressure and temperature respectively. A third crystal is a reference, and the fourth crystal may be another reference crystal or a second temperature crystal. The output of the latter is either phase leading or phase lagging the thermal response of the main temperature sensor.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a charge amplifier which can be operated at low cost so that electric charge generated in a piezoelectric pressure sensor having one end grounded is converted into a voltage signal. In the charge amplifier (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention, a plus side power source input terminal of an operational amplifier (5) is connected to a plus power source (null5 V) while a minus side power source input terminal of the operational amplifier (5) is grounded, so that the operational amplifier (5) is supplied with a single power source. Further, an offset voltage lower than the plus power source voltage but higher than the ground potential is applied to a non-inverted input terminal of the operational amplifier (5). Accordingly, change of pressure in both positive and negative directions can be converted into a voltage signal with the offset voltage as its center though the operational amplifier (5) is driven by a single power source. That is, cost can be suppressed because a double power source is not required.

    摘要: Accurate dynamic pressure data in a changing thermal environment is obtained through the use of a pressure gage formed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymer material. The temperature compensation pressure gage has three major elements: an active PVDF transducer which obtains remote pressure readings which are uncorrected for thermal effects; a thermocouple having a short rise time allowing an output thermal signal which dynamically responds to changing thermal conditions; and a compensation amplifier circuit receiving the uncorrected pressure readings and the dynamic thermal signal and producing an output signal representing accurate pressure data which is corrected for changing thermal conditions. Also disclosed are the details of making an active PVDF transducer.

The latter is used to compensate at least partly, the effects due to temperature variations.
