    摘要: An electronic device has a housing and a rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The housing has an aperture and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism has a shaft positioned at least partially within the aperture and a manipulation structure coupled to the shaft. The manipulation structure may be manipulated to rotationally and translationally move the shaft to provide rotational and translational input to the electronic device. A compressible seal is positioned in a gap between the housing and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The compressible seal may resist and/or prevent passage of contaminants into the aperture and/or obscure one or more internal components. The compressible seal may be configured to collapse or bend when the rotatable and translatable member translates.

    摘要: An operating mechanism of a multifunctional device which can be worn on the wrist and has a housing with integrated electronics. The operating mechanism is integrated into the housing and has an operating element which is a one-piece or multi-piece setting stem. The setting stem partly crosses the housing, and the setting stem is arranged parallel to a planar enlargement of the housing and is rotatably and linearly moveably mounted. The setting stem can be moved linearly parallel to the longitudinal axis and rotatively about the rotational axis/longitudinal axis by a first operating watch button and optionally with a second operating watch button. The movement of the setting stem triggers various contacts on a contact plate, from which contacts electronic signals are sent to the electronics, as a result of which the electronic control of the multifunctional device is effected.

    摘要: The present invention concerns a control device for electronic apparatus of the electronic stem type, adapted to be shifted between a plurality of axial positions. According to one preferred embodiment, the stem (1), with axis X, has four different axial positions. Two contact clips (21, 22, 60, 61) mutually offset in the direction of the axis X are provided to make contact with two respective power supply terminals (19, 20, 75, 76) of a source of electrical power supply. The stem comprises a plurality of cylindrical portions (36, 38, 50, 51, 52) which cooperate with deformable extensions (27, 28, 64, 65) of the contact clips to deform them in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis X. Thus, in accordance with the axial position of the stem (1), the contact clips (21, 22, 60, 61) can be in different electrical states, i.e. isolated or connected to the source of power supply, independently of one another. As a result the assembly formed by the two contact clips can exhibit four different states, each being representative of a given axial position of the stem.

The switch comprises an operating button the periphery of which has a plurality of operating portions, a support provided at the center of the rear portion of the button, a casing having a plurality of through-holes defined opposite the operating portions of the button, and a plurality of operating shafts received in the through-holes. The rear surface of the button has bosses in and out of point-contact with the operating shafts. Although the bosses are rotated about the support for the button, the operating shafts receives simple axial forces. This secures good operation of the switch.

    摘要: A manually operable setting stem 1 has three stable axial positions defined by a pull out piece 4 cooperating with notches in the head 8a of a spring 8. The illustrated position is a pushed in, neutral position. In an intermediate pulled out position, a return bar 9 moves a sliding pinion 12 into engagement with a gear 17 in mesh with a gear 18 which is in turn in mesh with a gear 19 whose axis can swing about the axis of the gear 18. In the intermediate position, rotation of the stem in one sense adjusts a data ring 14 via a star-wheel 20 on the gear 19; rotation in the other sense adjusts the pre-set alarm time via a gear 21. In the fully pulled out position the return bar slides the pinion 12 further inwardly and with it the gear 17 which meshes with a gear 24 for setting the time indicating mechanism. The stem can be pushed in beyond the stable pushed in position to engage the tip 1a of the stem with an electrical contact. Such operation alternately turns the alarm mechanism on and off.

As adapted for use with a watch, the rocker switch is preferably disposed in a recess in the watchcase and includes a manually-operable actuator bar having a pair of spaced legs projecting through access holes into the watercase to alternately engage a pair of switch contact means when the actuator bar is rocked. Each leg of the actuator bar preferably includes an offset lip engaging the watchcase from the inside to retain the actuator bar in the recess. Resilient washer means is positioned around the legs between the actuator bar and the bottom of the watchcase recess in sealed contact therewith to provide switch sealing means and return-spring means for the actuator bar.
