    摘要: A personal portable terminal for financial transactions adapted for use with one or more data storage and transfer cards (DSTCs) and other external devices, such as point of sale terminals, is disclosed. The transaction device includes keyboard means for entering transaction data and control information, means for temporarily storing transaction data, and logic means for performing arithmetic, logical, and control operations. Said logic means further includes means for storing predetermined programs which are activated by instructions entered via said keyboard. Also included are display means for selectively displaying transaction data and means for transferring selected data from the transaction device into suitable storage means located in said other external device and into at least one DSTC. Further means are disclosed whereby account balance data in one DSTC may be credited while account balance data in another DSTC is debited as a result of the transaction.

    摘要: Methods and devices are provided for reading both chip and magnetic stripe cards, and in particular for preventing use of a magnetic stripe when a chip is present, in various settings such as fuel dispensers, ATMs, and retail settings. For example, a card reading device is provided that includes a housing and at least one card slot. A smart card reader and a magnetic stripe card reader are disposed within the housing. In one embodiment, a gate is configured to prevent insertion of a card into a rear portion of the card slot when a chip is detected to prevent the magnetic stripe card reader from reading a magnetic stripe. In another embodiment, a first card slot has a first depth that prevents insertion of a magnetic stripe but allows reading of a chip, and a second slot has a depth that allows insertion of a magnetic stripe.

The open sides of the pockets of different rows face in opposite directions. The middle structure includes a plurality of holes in rows for transferring subscriber identity module cards therethrough to the pockets or from the pockets, the holes of the middle structure of different rows facing in opposite directions, and the holes being on the open sides of the pockets.
