    摘要: A distributed electrical power generating and utilizing system includes an induction generator driven by a prime mover requiring reactive power to operate for providing electrical power on a bus. The bus has a gross load and is also connectable to a utility power grid by a switch. The gross load includes at least a non-linear electrical load component, typically including a variable speed device and associated diode rectifier front end. The bus includes a harmonic filter having a power factor-correcting capacitor integrated therewith for collectively compensating harmonic distortion caused by the non-linear load component and for correcting power factor to compensate for reactive power required by at least the inductive generator.

The control power supply system includes a first conductor configured to carry a direct current (DC) electrical current from a source to a load, a second conductor configured to carry the DC electrical current from the load to the source, a electrical device electrically coupled in series with at least one of the first and second conductor. The electrical device is configured to fail in a shorted condition such that failure of the electrical device maintains a direct current (DC) ring bus including the first and second conductor. The control power supply system also includes a control power circuit electrically coupled in parallel with at least a portion of the electrical device such that a DC voltage across at least a portion of the electrical device provides a DC voltage supply to the control power circuit.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method of installing a passive electrical element, or voltage control guard (VCG), in an electrical circuit of a circuit breaker box in an electrical network of a residential, industrial, or commercial facility. The VCG has an inherent capacitance, resistance, and inductance and has at least two electrical leads that are installed to establish a parallel connection on a neutral bus bar in the circuit breaker box, with a portion of a current on neutral bus bar flowing through the VCG. When the VCG is properly installed, the VCG converts wasted or lost power in the electrical network to useable power, thereby reducing the total electrical consumption of the facility.

    摘要: A reclosing apparatus for the auxiliary systems of a plant, in particular a power station, has drive modules (81) for actuating electrical drives (23a, 23b, 33, 53a, 53b, 63, 73) of the auxiliary systems. If the end of the voltage interruption is detected within a predetermined time, the reclosing modules (82) switch the drives (23a, 33, 53a, 63, 73) on again.     摘要: There is disclosed a device for measuring the magnetic field strengths associated with a.c. electrical currents over a protracted period of time and, as required, in hostile environments. A preferable application calls for the determination of the field strengths associated with electrical currents flowing in the a.c. power distribution lines of utilities. The device includes a monitoring instrument positioned in relation to the power lines to be monitored, typically at the base of a pole immediately adjacent the pole of the power line or on a power line supporting pole itself. In order to provide for long term, powering of the monitoring device, d.c. power is developed utilizing the a.c. power that is present. The conversion from a.c. to d.c. is effected at a distance sufficiently far from the monitoring instrument so as not to have any consequence on the readings that are being taken. Readings during the protracted period are typically stored and then accessable at pre-determined periods. A device for checking the operability of the instrument is disclosed. A device for determining the lateral profile of magnetic field strengths for transverse distances from the location site of the monitoring instrument is also disclosed.
