Abstract: A teat cup assembly for use with a milking machine for milking cows. The teat cup assembly comprises a hollow tubular shell together with an inflation including a hollow tubular barrel disposed within the shell. The inflation is deformable between a relaxed profile and a collapsed massage profile around the teat of a cow. The teat cup assembly includes reinforcing structure for predetermining a desired collapsed massage profile for the barrel of the inflation. The reinforcing structure includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced ribs projecting from the barrel of the inflation, and a corresponding plurality of rib receiving grooves formed in the inner surface of the shell. As a result, the inflation will always collapse in a known and predetermined massage profile, which is preferably triangular in shape, to override any inherent inconsistencies in manufacturing processes or materials of construction.

Abstract: A device is proposed for a milking stall (1) with at least one milking position (2) for an animal (3) and with at least one milking equipment which comprises a milking member (4,5) arranged to being attached to an animal for milking thereof. The device comprises a cabinet (9) which defines an inner space. The cabinet is arranged to comprise a driving arrangement for a remover (14), arranged to remove the milking member (4,5) from the animal (3) after the milking is finished, and an operating panel (11) which the milking equipment is controlled. The driving arrangement is positioned in the cabinet (9) at least at one of two predetermined driving positions which are adapted to a first operating position and a second operating position, respectively, of the cabinet in said stall (1).

Abstract: A modular teat cup assembly for use with a milking machine for milking cows. The modular teat cup assembly comprises a hollow tubular shell together with a cartridge assembly slidably received within the shell. The cartridge assembly includes a spool-shaped liner and a framework comprising a pair of opposing sleeve members for supporting the liner. The sleeve members are movable between an open position to permit removal and replacement of the liner, and a closed position for supporting the liner therebetween. A cap removably mounted on the bottom of the shell holds the cartridge assembly within the shell and is used to attach a milking tube in the conventional manner. A head piece includes a mouth for receiving a cow's teat, and is snapped onto the upper end of the shell to complete the modular assembly.

Abstract: A teat rubber cup comprising a head member substantially rotationally symmetric with a longitudinal axis, with an aperture for insertion of the teat, a retaining edge to engage over a teat cup sleeve, and a suction stub joined to the head member, the end of the head member opposite the teat insertion aperture merging into the retaining edge. The wall of the head member is stiffened in a region located between the teat insertion aperture and the transition to the retaining edge, and the upper end of the suction stub merges into this stiffened part of the head member. The part of the teat rubber cup head located between the stiffened part and the retaining edge is made at least partly elastic. During the suction phase a compressive force acts on the section of the head member located between the stiffened part of the head member and the retaining edge, the force endeavouring to move that section towards the outside of the suction stub. An upward movement of the teat cup sleeve then takes place, while in the relief phase a slight downward movement of the sleeve takes place relative to the teat.
