摘要： A system for facilitating the practicing or playing of golf may include, alone or in combination, a golf target subsystem, a detection subsystem, and a golf ball dispensing subsystem. The golf ball dispensing subsystem comprises a free standing device placed at the teeing area which may be configured to provide various functions, such as, for example, receiving and storing a quantity of golf balls, exposing non-illuminated golf balls to an illuminating source contained therein, and thereby illuminating the golf balls, and/or dispensing the illuminated golf balls to the golfer. The golf target subsystem is suitably configured to permit a golfer to locate and identify the target area while addressing the golf ball so that the golfer may attempt to land the golf ball within the target area. In addition, to facilitate the identification of the target during nighttime conditions, i.e., conditions without external lighting, the golf target is preferably illuminated.

The divot length is measured with a device for designating a certain location from which a golf ball is to be hit and for measuring the length of a divot caused by hitting a golf ball from that location.

摘要： The launch angle of an object in flight after being launched from a initial position, such as a golf ball struck by a golf club, is determined by measuring the velocity of the object using a sensor, such as a Doppler Radar transceiver, positioned, for example, at a known distance forward of the initial position along an expected straight aim line. The launch angle is calculated using a mathematical model, describing the relationship between the measured velocity as a function of elapsed time since launch and the geometrical relation between the sensor and the initial position. The aim angle of the object may be determined by performing independent launch angle calculations corresponding with velocity measurements from a plurality of sensors positioned, for example, in a line at a known distance forward of the initial position. The aim angle is obtainable from the ratio of the calculated launch angles.

摘要： A golf putter head has a cylindrical body with a defined flat face on top, the body made up of an outer shell of an aluminum alloy and an inner core of brass. The head has a groove across the flat face of the top and at its center, with indicator material carried in the groove for alignment purposes. The head is sized so that the convex surface of the cylindrical body at its widest point will strike a golf ball at its corresponding widest point, thus providing for quick rolling action of the ball when putted. The combined outer shell/inner core structure is used to obtain favorable “feel” and balance properties.

In particular as applied to the game of golf, a golf website presents pictorial tours of various golf courses by means of shot-by-shot teachings from a player's perspective of the recommended play of a given hole. Such a shot-by-shot teaching tour entertains, teaches as well as allows a web user to judge whether the given course is attractive or suitable to that user. The web users get to see not just the beauty and skill-challenge of the course, but also check such factors as whether the course will adversely challenge to their health if they have conditions of, eg., weak heart or impaired walking mobility, or otherwise cause discomfort because of eg., desert heat or mountain coolness, and so on. Some course allow carts, others don't. Thus a hilly course up on a cool plateau is not likely appealing to someone who might be stricken by such things. Accordingly, that sort of “someone” ought to forego the course even if the beauty and skill-challenge aspects are otherwise appealing.

An arc of the second loop defines a vertical portion disposed perpendicularly to the horizontal periphery of the first collapsible loop, while the remaining arc of the second loop generally defines an horizontal portion proximate a horizontal portion of the first loop. The netting panel is attached to the vertical portion of the second loop and to one of the horizontal portions of the first or second loop to form a substantially vertical netting surface for engaging the ball.

The approximate size of this mat is 4 feet by 6 feet. The mat also comes in different colors.
