    Abstract: An optical fiber connector assembly comprises at least one connector having a latching arm for coupling to an adapter, and a remote release tab having a protrusion configured to cooperate with the adapter to depress said latching arm when the remote release tab is pulled relative to the adapter.     Abstract: Systems and methods of using a multiport assembly and associated components are disclosed. The multiport assembly can include a multiport device that communicatively couples multiple sets or pairs of connectors, such as optical connectors or electrical connectors, together. The multiport assembly can also include an auxiliary port device that couples to the multiport device to expand the capacity of the multiport assembly. Both the multiport and auxiliary port devices can be selectively configured to receive specific types of connectors by selectively coupling to different types of adapters, where the types of adapters correspond to the types of connectors. When coupled to the multiport or auxiliary port devices, the adapters facilitate the formation of the communication between its corresponding set of connectors.

    Abstract: Reversible polarity fiber optic connectors are provided having housings at least partially surrounding first and second optical ferrules with walls above and beneath the ferrules. Positioning removable elements such as latches, removable arms, or push-pull tabs on the first wall above the ferrules yields fiber optic connectors with a first polarity type, and positioning the removable elements on the second wall beneath the ferrules yields fiber optic connectors with a second, opposite polarity type. Various engagement mechanisms are provided on either the connector housing walls or on the removable elements, or both, to assist in affixing the removable element to the connector housing.

    Abstract: A multi-fiber, fiber optic connector is interchangeable between a male connector and a female connector by including a pin retainer having a releasable retention device configured to lock the pins in place within the retainer. The retention device may be opened, for example, with a release tool, to free the retention pins for removal of the pins. A method for switching a connector between a male connector configuration and a female connector configuration may be possible as a result of the releasable retention configuration.

    Abstract: An optical connection system for use with a receptacle and an optical cable assembly includes an adapter and connector. The adapter has an adapter latch element, and the connector has a connector latch element. A delatch actuator with a delatch arm is disposed on the connector housing for movement from a locking position to an unlocking position. One of the adapter latch element and connector latch element is a bendable latch hook and the other is a locking channel. When the connector housing is mated with the adapter, the delatch arm allows the bendable latch hook to latch with the locking channel in the locking position and unlatches the bendable latch hook from the locking channel as it moves to the unlocking position. An actuator lock movably supports a blocking member on the connector for selectively blocking the delatch actuator from moving to the unlocking position.

    Abstract: An optical connector holding two or more LC-type optical ferrules is provided. A plural of optical connectors are ganged together into when insert into an adapter. To remove the connectors together or individually a removal tool is attachable to one or more of the connectors. The removal tool has a plural of release arms that in first position can release the fiber optic connector from the adapter receptacle. Release aim in a second position prevents the fiber optic connector from being released from the adapter receptacle. The removal tool is moved distally to actuate or retain the fiber optic connectors within their corresponding adapter receptacle.

    Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a device and system of devices including: a connector housing comprising an alignment sleeve therein with a plural of angled surface and at least one opening, or an internal cavity of said connector housing has the same configuration as said alignment sleeve. Upon inserting ferrule assembly within an opening of said housing, a contact point on a collar or flange of said assembly moves along angled surfaces until it engages an opening between angled surfaces for securing ferrule assembly within connector housing without jamming.
