Abstract: A steering wheel includes a boss connected to the steering shaft and steering portions arranged around the boss, and the steering portion has a non-circular portion including a corner portion or an end portion, where the non-circular portion is covered with one or more cover pieces. Preferably, the one or more cover pieces cover the front surfaces facing the occupant in the non-circular portion, the rear surfaces positioned on the opposite side of the occupant, and the upper surfaces positioned between the front surface and the rear surface.

Abstract: A quick-disassembly assembly for a steering wheel and a steering column, including a steering wheel shaft and a connecting block, the steering wheel shaft being disposed in an inner wall of the steering wheel, the connecting block being connected to the steering column, and a guide slot and a positioning block being provided in the connecting block. When the steering wheel shaft slides into the guide slot and is positioned with the positioning block, the steering wheel is connected to the steering column. When the steering wheel shaft slides out from the guide slot, the steering wheel is separated from the steering column. The connection between the steering wheel and the steering column is achieved by means of the connecting block. During connection, the steering wheel shaft of the steering wheel is slid into the guide slot of the connecting block and is positioned with the positioning block.

Abstract: An airbag device includes a driver airbag cushion and a curtain airbag cushion. The curtain airbag cushion includes a first seam portion formed so as to extend vertically within a range in which the driver airbag cushion is projected outward in the vehicle width direction, a first chamber expanding so as to be thicker in the vehicle width direction than the first seam portion on the front side of the first seam portion, and a second chamber expanding so as to be thicker in the vehicle width direction than the first seam portion on the rear side of the first seam portion. The driver airbag cushion is expanded and deployed in a state separated from the first chamber while being in contact with a curved portion of the second chamber that is curved toward the first seam portion.

Abstract: An inflatable airbag for a motor vehicle, the airbag comprises a pair of superimposed layers of fabric which are interconnected by a peripheral seam extending around and defining the bounds of a single inflatable chamber between said layers. The inflatable chamber has an inlet region comprising a fluid inlet connected to an inflator. First and second peripherally spaced-apart regions of the peripheral seam are secured to one another such that the inlet region is superimposed with at least one other region of the inflatable chamber to thereby induce an inflated shape to the chamber upon inflation of the airbag by a flow of gas from said inflator, the inflated shape being characterised by least one said other region of the inflatable chamber lying adjacent said inflator upon inflation of the airbag.
