Abstract:
A sensing apparatus having a sensing functionality controller and a method of detecting the sensing apparatus is disclosed. A signal generation unit embedded in the sensing apparatus operates in conjunction with the sensing functionality controller to support the sensing functionality of the sensing unit. The signal generation unit generates one or more sensing functionality support signals used to enhance content obtained by the sensing unit, (e.g., a flash for illuminating a sensed target such that content obtained by the sensing unit is not too dark, or a sound or light-based auto focus signal to make sure that the content is not out of focus). When the sensing functionality controller is activated, the same signal generation unit generates a detectable warning signal, (e.g., sound, light, radio wave), which indicates that the sensing functionality controller has been activated and/or the sensing unit is sensing.

Abstract:
A method of processing a vehicle wheel/rim preform with a first rotational axis and having a centersection/spider and an annular wall extending around the centersection/spider and first rotational axis and having an annular surface defining axially spaced, annular inboard and outboard bead seats. The method includes the steps of: providing a workpiece support having a chuck assembly that is rotatable around a second axis and at least one rim wall support assembly; engaging the chuck assembly with the centersection/spider to maintain the vehicle wheel/rim preform in a processing position on the chuck assembly wherein the first rotational axis on the vehicle wheel/rim preform is substantially coincident with the second axis; engaging the at least one rim wall support assembly with the annular wall to exert a force with a radial component upon the annular wall to thereby stabilize the wheel/rim preform; and processing the vehicle wheel/rim preform at the annular surface fully axially between the inboard and outboard bead seats with the vehicle wheel/rim preform maintained in the processing position and rotated by the chuck assembly around the second axis.
Abstract:
A tool case includes a case and a cover. A first rib projects from an inner face of a first side of the case, and a second rib projects from an inner face of a second side of the case. The cover includes an end pivotally connected to a lateral side of the case. The cover further includes a first holding area and a second holding area. The first holding area includes at least one pair of resilient holding plates for securely holding a tool. Sleeves are integrally and consecutively formed on the inner side of the second holding area. Each sleeve includes a receiving holes for receiving at least one bit. The bits received in the receiving sleeves respectively abut against the first rib and the second rib to prevent falling of the bits.

A method for the catalytic conversion of codeine, morphine or analogs thereof into hydrocodone, hydromorphone or analogs thereof utilizing a transition metal catalyst of the formula [M(PR3R4R5)nXm]p; wherein R1 is H, alkyl, aryl or acyl; M is a Group VIII transition metal; R3, R4 and R5 are selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkoxyl, phenoxyl and combinations thereof; X is a halide or an anion; n is 1, 2, 3 or 4; m is 1 or 2; and p is at least 1.
Abstract:
A process of making a multilayer printed wiring board assembly. The process includes the steps of providing a first and a second substrate made of a dielectric material; depositing a first wiring pattern on the first substrate and a second wiring pattern on the second substrate with a conductive material; depositing a dielectric material on the first and second wiring patterns and defining a via connecting zone on the first and the second wiring pattern for communicating signals between the first and the second wiring pattern by exposing a selective portion of the first and second wiring patterns; depositing a conductive bonding material on the via connecting zone of one of the first and the second wiring pattern; arranging the first and the second substrate in sandwiched juxtaposition such that the via connecting zones of the first and the second wiring pattern are opposite each other and in substantial alignment with each other so that the conductive bonding material deposited on the one of the via connecting zones contacts another one of the via connecting zones; and curing the deposited bonding material thereby forming a conductive joint connecting the first and the second via connecting zones.
Abstract:
An optical receiver communication system converts optical signals modulated by analog or digital waveforms to RF signals. The optical receiver contains an automatic level control circuit to adjust the electronic gain of the system across a broad bandwidth spectrum. Two impedance matching circuits are designed using broad band matching technique to expand the bandwidth for increasing the maximum receivable frequencies to 1 GHz. A RLC impedance matching circuit forms a resonant combination to maintain .+-.1 dB fluctuation between the low-and-high-frequency limits of the bandwidth, and a 75.OMEGA. impedance matching circuit creates a 180.degree. phase shift between outgoing and incoming signals to ensure low return loss.
