A polarization diversity wireless LAN antenna may be included for cooperating with the wireless LAN transceiver to communicate over a wireless LAN. The polarization diversity wireless LAN antenna may include a first antenna element coupled to the wireless LAN transceiver having a first shape and a first polarization, and a second antenna element coupled to the wireless LAN transceiver having a second shape different from the first shape.     摘要: A mobile wireless communications device may include a housing, a printed circuit board (PCB) carried by the housing, at least one wireless RF circuit carried by the PCB, and a first contact(s) carried by the PCB and electrically connected to the at least one wireless RF circuit. The device may further include a wrap-around antenna assembly comprising an antenna retainer frame removably coupled to an edge of the PCB and having first and second portions wrapping around adjacent first and second surfaces of the PCB at the edge thereof when the antenna retainer frame is coupled to the PCB. The wrap-around antenna assembly may also include an antenna carried by the antenna retainer frame and extending along the first and second portions thereof. The antenna may include a second contact(s) removably coupled to the first contact(s) when the antenna retainer frame is coupled to the PCB.

The multi-frequency band antenna may include a main loop conductor having a gap therein defining first and second ends of the main loop conductor, a first branch conductor having a first end connected adjacent the first end of the main loop conductor and having a second end defining a first feed point, and a second branch conductor having a first end connected adjacent the second end of the main loop conductor and a second end defining a second feed point.     摘要: A multiple-element antenna for a multi-band wireless mobile communication device is provided. The multiple-element antenna includes a first antenna element, a second antenna element positioned adjacent the first antenna element, and a parasitic coupler positioned adjacent the first antenna element and the second antenna element. In one embodiment, the first and second antenna elements have respective first and second operating frequency bands, and electromagnetically couple with each other and with the parasitic coupler when the multiple-element antenna is operating in the first or second operating frequency band. The first and second antenna elements are configured to be connected to first and second transceivers in a wireless mobile communication device in an alternate embodiment.

    摘要: A mobile wireless communications device has a portable handheld housing. A circuit board is carried by the portable handheld housing. RF circuitry is carried by the circuit board. A diversity antenna and main antenna are carried by the portable handheld housing and coupled to the RF circuitry and operative together. The RF circuitry tunes the diversity antenna into a diversity communications frequency band to achieve a diversity mode of operation with the main antenna and tunes the diversity antenna into a non-diversity communications frequency band when cross-coupling has occurred from the diversity antenna to the main antenna when operating in the diversity communications frequency band. A switch is carried by the portable handheld housing and connected to the RF circuitry and coupled between the diversity and main antennae and disconnects the diversity antenna when operating in the non-diversity band to prevent cross-coupling from the diversity antenna to the main antenna.

    摘要: A system for testing a communications device includes a portable wireless communications device comprising a transmitter for transmitting an RF signal. A monitoring device receives the RF signals from the portable wireless communications device and analyzes the RF signals to determine total radiated power emitted from the transmitter. An adaptive antenna equivalent circuit is coupled to the transmitter. A connection line extends between the adaptive antenna equivalent circuit and the monitoring device. The adaptive antenna equivalent circuit has an equivalent antenna impedance matched to the portable wireless communications device and the connection line and monitoring device based on transmit frequency to ensure that total radiated power of the RF signals is transmitted from the transmitter to the monitoring device.
