Abstract: Systems and methods are provided and include a server configured to receive a copy of paint product catalog information associated with a coating manufacturer, store a paint product ordering application, receive a measured color of a flooring product from a dealer computer terminal located at a flooring store, determine paint colors that coordinate with the flooring product based on a measured color of the flooring product and the copy of the paint product catalog information, communicate the paint colors to the dealer computer terminal, run the paint product ordering application, receive an order for a paint product from the dealer computer terminal, and communicate the order for the paint product to a computer system located at a coating manufacturer facility, the computer system being configured to receive transmission of the order for the paint product from the server for order fulfillment at the coating manufacturer facility.

Abstract: A method for a user to paint an image includes generating a display of a room image uploaded by the user. The method also includes employing a straight-line masking tool to block off a first area of the room image with a straight line such that color will not be applied to the first area when color is applied to a second area of the room image. The method also includes employing a polygon masking tool to draw at least three lines to mask off a selected polygon area of the room image such that color can be applied by the user to an inside of the selected polygon area when the user selects the inside of the selected polygon area and an outside of the selected polygon area when the user selects the outside of the selected polygon area.

Abstract: Systems and methods for color selection are provided. A web server stores a lookup table that associates room types and types of feelings with paint colors such that each possible combination of room type and type of feeling is associated with a subset of paint colors. A user device displays the room types, receives a room type selection indicating a particular room type, displays the types of feelings, receives a type of feeling selection indicating a particular type of feeling, accesses the lookup table and determines the associated subset of paint colors in the lookup table for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling, and displays the associated subset of paint colors as recommended paint colors for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling on the display of the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for color coordination for scanned products are provided. A kiosk has a control module, an input device, a display device, and an optical code reader. The kiosk has access to a product/color database. The control module is configured to receive an identification code scanned by the optical code reader, determine a sample product associated with the identification code, determine at least one coordinating color for the sample product based on the product/color database, display a simulated environment including a sample room having at least one selectable surface, display on the display device the at least one coordinating color, receive with the input device a selected color, receive with the input device a selected surface from the sample room, display on the display device the simulated environment showing the sample room with the sample product and with the selected color on the selected surface of the sample room.

A user device is configured to receive a room type selection from a plurality of room types displayed on a display of the user device, to receive a purpose selection from a plurality of purposes displayed on the user device, to determine a plurality of recommended paint colors based on the room type selection and the purpose selection, and to display the plurality of recommended paint colors on the display of the user device. The determination of the plurality of recommended paint colors is made with a lookup table that associates particular room types and purposes with recommended paint colors.

Abstract: A user-facing front end screen display of an illustrative digital image painting application includes a bucket tool which enables a user to apply a selected color to a selected area of an uploaded digital image such as a wall of a room, a paint brush tool to fill in missed areas, an eraser tool is to remove misapplied color, masking tools to mask off selected areas, and a tolerance slider tool to assist in properly filling in painted areas. Improved image preprocessing methods enable better definition of areas of the image to be painted the same color.
