A method is provided for verifying the outcome of a game presented at a gaming device. The method includes the step of collecting game play information, including information regarding each input by a player of the game and all generated game data. Collected information is stored in a session file pertaining to the game. In one embodiment, the session file includes captured data fields. Collected information is associated with these data fields. The session file may be stored in a memory device associated with the gaming device. After play of the game, the collected information may be used to recreate or replay the game, such as for verifying the outcome of the game. In one embodiment, the gaming device comprises a player's computer which is in communication with a remote game server via a communication link, such as including the Internet.
Abstract:
Methods and devices are described that authenticate portable tokens, such as plastic tokens used in casinos on card tables. The systems and methods assign authentication data to a token. The authentication data is verified when a person tries to redeem value on the token. A person's authentication data may be acquired via an interface provided by a gaming machine, for example, and the authentication data stored so that the authentication information is later be read when someone tries to redeem value on the token. Only a person who presents the tokens and authentication data could then negotiate such tokens.

In a gaming method for facilitating game play via a gaming apparatus, the gaming apparatus comprising a controller and a first display unit, the controller communicatively coupled to the first display unit, a game software application may be executed, and value input data may be received. The first display unit may be caused to display a game image representative of one of the following games: poker, blackjack, slots, keno, or bingo. A secondary software application may be executed, and an icon associated with the secondary software application may be displayed simultaneous with the display of the game image, wherein a foreground of the game image is substantially unobstructed by the icon, and wherein the icon is substantially unobstructed by the foreground of the game image. Information may be conveyed using the secondary software application upon detecting an event, and a value payout associated with an outcome of the game may be determined.

Interactive gaming tables and systems adapted to facilitate the automated administration of gaming table events are provided. Tables can have a playing surface, an outer circumference with active player positions, a slave controller for each active player position adapted to facilitate automated gaming activities, a master gaming table controller to synchronize communications and activities between slave controllers, access interfaces for communications with networked devices located away from the table, cameras and other tracking devices adapted to track gaming events at the table, and a specialized gaming table bolster distributed about the outer circumference. Bolster devices can include player friendly peripherals, including visual displays, speakers, open jacks, player tracking devices, and lights or other display elements to indicate table game statuses or the presence or absence of players. Tables can communicate with each other, a remote host, and/or player controlled auxiliary or hand-held wireless devices, which may be adapted for backbetting.

A remote gaming system and method provides for portable memory devices having predetermined game play outcomes for play on PGDs. The portable memory device having a memory to store at least one predetermined game play outcome for a wager-based game, a processor coupled to the memory, and a biometric sensor. The biometric sensor to measure at least one biometric data from a user to access the wager-based game. A remote gaming server may be in electronic communication with the PGDs or portable memory device to store the predetermined game play outcomes for the wager-based game on the portable memory device.

Enrollment data may be received from a plurality of players at respective gaming computers, wherein enrollment data corresponding to a first player of the plurality of players indicates the first player wishes to play in the gaming tournament for a first subset of the gaming tournament time. Each of the gaming computers may be enabled for playing at least one game in the gaming tournament during the gaming tournament time, wherein the gaming computer corresponding to the first player is enabled for the first subset of the gaming tournament time. A first winning player may be determined, if any, from the plurality of players based on outcomes of the games played by the plurality of players. If the first winning player is determined, data indicative of a first value payout to be awarded to the first winning player may be generated.
