摘要： A reel stand includes (a) a reel base for engaging a reel and driving the reel, (b) a bearing disposed in the reel base and being extended through by a rotary shaft, and (c) a spring being urged to the rotary shaft. This construction allows the reel stand to integrate a brake torque mechanism into its downsized body, and to provide a tape with uniform tape tension when the tape is taken up or supplied. The spring is pressed to the shaft to produce brake torque, which lowers the peripheral velocity of the shaft. As a result, less frictional heat is produced, which reduces changes in friction factors due to the heat.

The second chassis section is movable between a first position and a second position. When the second chassis section is in the first position, a supply reel, the first tape guide member, the second tape guide member, the third tape guide member and the cylinder are arranged in this order, such that only the first, second and third tape guide members guide the magnetic tape between the supply reel and the cylinder. When the second chassis section is in the first position, the first tape guide member is in contact with a magnetic surface of the magnetic tape, and the second and third tape guide members are in contact with the non-magnetic surface of the magnetic tape.

摘要： A reel driving device includes a reel stand for driving a reel to rotate; and a latch including at least one contact portion contactable with the reel. The reel stand includes a convexed and concaved portion. The latch includes a claw portion for, when contacting the convexed and concaved portion, stopping a rotation of the convexed and concaved portion. While the reel stand rotates in a first direction, the latch moves in such a direction that the claw portion contacts the convexed and concaved portion by a rotation of the reel stand being conveyed to the at least one contact portion. While the reel stand rotates in a second direction, the latch moves in such a direction that the claw portion is separated from the convexed and concaved portion by a rotation of the reel stand being conveyed to the at least one contact portion.

摘要： An apparatus of the present invention is a magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus for pulling out a magnetic tape from a tape cassette and winding the magnetic tape around a rotary head cylinder, having a rotary head, for a predetermined arc, for recording/reproducing the magnetic tape. The magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus includes: a base member on which the tape cassette and the rotary head cylinder are mounted. A first state is defined as a state where the tape cassette has been mounted on the base member by a user. A second state is defined as a state where, after the mounting of the tape cassette, a tape guide member has pulled out the magnetic tape from the tape cassette and wound the magnetic tape around the rotary head cylinder, for the predetermined arc, thereby forming a tape drive system to allow the magnetic tape to be recorded/reproduced. A loading operation is defined as a transition operation from the first state to the second state. The magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus further comprises a reel base which is axially supported on the base member in a rotatable manner and engages with a reel for winding and holding the magnetic tape within the tape cassette, and a reel driver for driving rotation of the reel base. In the loading operation, the reel base is rotated by using the reel driver in a direction which takes up the magnetic tape.
