    Abstract: An antijackknifing system for a tractor-semitrailer combination. In one embodiment, a first fluid cylinder is provided having a piston with fluid on opposite sides thereof, the piston being linearly actuated in opposite directions, respectively, by turning movement of the steerable front wheels of the tractor in opposite directions from the center position. A second fluid cylinder is provided having a piston therein with fluid on opposite sides thereof, the piston being linearly actuated in opposite directions from a neutral position, respectively, by pivotal turning movement of the semitrailer with respect to the tractor in opposite directions from its centered position. A third fluid cylinder is provided having a piston with fluid on opposite sides thereof. A first conduit connects the three cylinders on one side of the respective pistons thereby providing a first closed fluid system, and a second conduit connects the three cylinders on the opposite sides of the respective pistons thereby providing a second closed fluid system so that movement of the piston of one of the first and second cylinders away from its neutral position without corresponding coordinated movement of the piston of the other of the first and second cylinders causes movement of the piston of the third cylinder away from its neutral position to accommodate fluid displaced by movement of the piston of the one cylinder. The piston of the third cylinder is coupled to increase the braking force exerted by the trailer brakes and simultaneously to decrease the braking force exerted by the tractor brakes in response to movement of the piston of the third cylinder away from its neutral position in either direction thereby to assist the driver in restoring a normal coordinated relationship between the position of the front wheels of the tractor and the pivotal position of the semitrailer with respect to the tractor.

    Abstract: A bicycle comprising a frame, seat, rear and front wheels, and a chain drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a rear sprocket conventionally connected to the rear wheel and a front sprocket which is conventionally rotated by means of pedals. The means supporting the front sprocket and the seat are connected together so that the front sprocket and seat can be selectively and simultaneously raised and lowered. A steering wheel is provided in lieu of conventional handlebars, the steering wheel being connected to the conventional steering post by means of a universal joint.

    Abstract: A machine for pressing and finishing an entire shirt including the front, remainder of the body, sleeves, cuffs and collar. The machine includes a vertical, heated, shift front pressplate and a buck adapted to have the body of a shirt dressed thereon with the front of the shirt engaging a surface of the buck. An inflatable bag is attached to the buck, the bag being adapted to have the portion of the shirt body which is not in engagement with the buck surface dressed thereon. The buck is movable between a horizontal dressing position, and a vertical pressing position with the shirt front in pressing engagement between the pressplate and the buck surface. A blower forces air into the bag when the buck is in the pressing position thereby to inflate the bag and the body portion thereon to dry the same. A pair of cuff pressing assemblies each including a buck and heated pressplate are provided on opposite sides of the shirt front pressplate. A collar pressing assembly including a heated press plate and buck are provided beneath the body buck. The shirt body is dressed on the body buck and bag in its dressing position, the body buck and bag with the shirt body thereon being then raised to the vertical, pressing position. The cuffs are then respectively arranged on the cuff pressing assemblies and the pressing and air-blowing operation is then commenced. Meanwhile, the collar of another shirt is being pressed on the collar pressing assembly.

    Abstract: Apparatus for finishing a sleeved garment, such as a coat. A frame is provided having a fluid-pervious, inflatable bag supported thereon adapted to have the body portion of the garment dressed thereover with the sleeves depending therefrom. Steam is supplied to the interior of the bag to dampen and heat the body portion and sleeves, and a blower supplies air to the interior of the bag thereby to inflate the bag to dry the body and sleeves. A pair of sleeve expanders are provided for respectively expanding the sleeves to shape the same during steaming and drying operation. Each of the sleeve expanders includes a pair of elongated expanding elements adapted to be inserted in the open end of the respective sleeve. A pair of power cylinders are mounted on the frame and respectively have piston rods movable between retracted and extended positions. Each pair of elements is mounted on a respective piston rod and longitudinally movable therewith, the elements being at least partially withdrawn from a respective sleeve when the piston rod is in its retracted position, and having a substantial length thereof received within the respective sleeve when the piston rod is in its extended position. Each pair of elements is mounted on its respective piston rod for movement between collapsed and expanded positions. Linkage is provided which moves the elements to their expanded positions in response to movement of the respective piston rod to its extended position. The cylinders are respectively pivotally attached to the frame to provide pivotal movement of the respective elements between a position spaced from the bag and a position adjacent the bag, and a linkage is provided which pivotally moves the cylinders and the respective elements from the spaced to the adjacent position in response to movement of the respective piston rod toward its extended position.
