The flexible display device comprises a first flexible substrate including a display area including an organic light emitting layer, and a peripheral circuit area, and a second flexible substrate coming in contact with the first flexible substrate and including a pattern for facilitating bending thereof, wherein the second flexible substrate has a certain shape according to the pattern, and the first flexible substrate has a shape corresponding to the certain shape. Various embodiments of the present invention provide a flexible display device capable of realizing a narrow bezel-type or bezel-free display device and simultaneously realizing improved types of design, facilitating bending of a bezel area so as to realize a narrow bezel-type or bezel-free display device, and minimizing damage to an area to be bent.

An encapsulation layer is on the first surface of the substrate and covers the pixel unit. A support member is on a second surface of the substrate that is opposite the first surface. The support member overlaps an edge of the encapsulation layer. The support member reduces stress applied to areas of the flexible display panel that are vulnerable to cracking during bending of the flexible display panel.

The organic light emitting display device includes a base substrate, a first buffer layer disposed on the base substrate, a TFT disposed on the first buffer layer in a display area, a second TFT disposed on the first buffer layer in a non-display area, an organic light emitting diode (OLED) disposed on the first TFT, and an encapsulation layer disposed on the OLED, the second TFT, and the first buffer layer.
