A wrench tool is described for turning fasteners. The wrench tool comprises an orifice and means to reduce tilting of a fastener therein while being torqued. The orifice is substantially cylindrical and has a predetermined maximum circumference at a driving end thereof. The orifice further comprises an array of longitudinal engaging surfaces positioned therein around an imaginary central axis. The means to reduce tilting comprises at least one groove formed at least partially within at least one of the longitudinal engaging surfaces. Each groove is formed laterally relative to the imaginary central axis and has a depth which does not penetrate outwardly beyond the maximum circumference of the orifice. And, each groove is positioned at least slightly away from the driving end of the orifice.

The present invention involves a wrench for tightening and loosening bolts, nuts and fasteners having n number of equal length outside working surfaces. The wrench has a handle and a working wrench head with an orifice which contains at least two pairs of flat inside working surfaces. The pairs of inside working surfaces are arranged about and equidistant from an imaginary central axis through the orifice, and the surfaces of each pair form a surface contact angle a with one another. Additionally, each pair of flat inside working surfaces having a first working surface with a predetermined angle C relative to the imaginary central axis and a second working surface with a predetermined angle D relative to the imaginary central axis, wherein the angle C and the angle D differ from one another, and whereby the first working surface of a given pair of inside working surfaces is non-parallel to the second working surface of an opposing pair of inside working surfaces.

A double-ended wrench is described with a movable gripping means to improve user comfort, torque and continuous-use capabilities. The double-ended wrench has two wrench heads positioned, one at each end of an elongated handle. The gripping means is formed shorter than and for movement along the elongated handle of the wrench so that the gripping means may be positioned at each end of the wrench handle without obstructing the other end of the wrench. In addition, the gripping means has features specific to the application and a cavity therein with a dimension less than a dimension of each of the wrench heads so that the movement of the wrench grip along the elongated wrench handle is confined by the two wrench heads, keeping the grip upon the wrench.

The present invention is a multiple socket device and a wrench employing same wherein the socket device has four different socket sizes located about a single axis comprising a first (outer) member and a second (inner) member. Both members are hollow and the second slidably fits into the first. Each member has an upper portion and a lower portion, and each such portion has a different inside diameter corresponding to one of the four different socket sizes. The outer surface of the inner member, as well as the inner surface of both the inner member and the outer member, are entirely arrayed with angular longitudinal grooves.
