    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a substrate, a first electrode disposed on the substrate, a bank layer overlapping an edge of the first electrode and defining an opening in the bank layer which corresponds to the first electrode, a protrusion portion disposed on the bank layer and is spaced apart from the opening in the bank layer, the protrusion portion having a reverse-tapered structure in a cross-sectional view, an emission layer overlapping the first electrode through the opening, and a second electrode disposed on the emission layer and the protrusion portion, wherein a thickness of the second electrode decreases from a top surface of the protrusion portion toward a bottom surface of the protrusion portion on a side surface of the protrusion portion.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a protective film, and an adhesive member. The display panel includes a non-bending area and a bending area configured to bend from the non-bending area, and the bending area includes a curvature area with a curvature and a facing area facing the non-bending area. The protective film is on a rear surface of the display panel, and includes a first surface facing the rear surface of the display panel and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The protective film has a groove corresponding to the curvature area. The adhesive member is between the protective film and the display panel, and a hydrophobic layer is on the second surface of the protective film, and is adjacent to the groove.

    Abstract: A display apparatus including a display panel having a folding portion about which the display panel is configured to fold, a first lower film and a second lower film on one surface of the display panel, the first lower film and the second lower film being spaced apart from each other, at least one bump on the first lower film or the second lower film, and a first sub-layer on the first lower film, in which, when the display panel is folded, the folding portion is configured to fold so that a surface of the display panel located further from the first sub-layer is exposed and the first sub-layer faces another surface of the display panel located closer to the first sub-layer, and a height of the at least one bump is approximately less than or equal to a thickness of the first sub-layer.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a display device includes: providing a substrate including a first area, a second area at an end portion of the substrate, and a bendable area between the first and second areas; forming a display element on a first surface of the substrate in the first area; attaching a protective film on a second surface of the substrate which is opposite to the first surface thereof, in the first, second and bendable areas; attaching an electronic element on the first surface in the second area; forming a bending protective layer on the first surface in the bendable area, the bending protective layer extending from the bendable area to cover the electronic element in the second area of the substrate; and in the bendable area of the substrate, removing a portion of the protective film on the second surface of the substrate.
