Abstract:
When a binary image signal or multivalued image signal is input to form an image, if the binary image signal is input, one of the line width output characteristic previously stored in memory is set and displayed. If the multivalued image signal is input, one of the density output characteristic previously stored in the memory is set and displayed. Each of the line width output characteristic and the density output characteristic can be changed by the operator. The line width output characteristic is changed by changing the development bias voltage, and the density output characteristic is changed by changing the .gamma.-table.
Abstract:
It is determined whether recording paper set in a copying apparatus is oriented sideways or in the lengthwise direction, and it is determined whether an original has been set on a platen sideways or in the lengthwise direction. Based upon these determinations and a designated binding direction in which the recording paper is to be bound, the image read from the original is rotated through a predetermined angle in a two-dimensional plane and the rotated image is then printed out on the recording paper. This makes it possible to perform double-sided copying in a normal manner irrespective of the orientation of the original on the platen.
Abstract:
An synthetic-image forming apparatus including: an interface for inputting image information from a computer; a scanner for inputting original document image information; an operation portion for inputting region information indicating a region in which images are synthesized; an operation portion for selecting a printer base mode in which the image information from the interface is synthesized onto outside of the region and image information from the scanner is synthesized onto inside of the region or a scanner base mode in which the image information from the interface is synthesized onto inside of the region and the image information from the scanner is synthesized onto outside of the region; image forming portion for synthesizing the image information from the interface and the image information from the scanner in accordance with the mode selected by the operation portion and the region information supplied from the operation portion and forming an image on a selected sheet in accordance with the synthesized image information; and a control portion that inhibits an image forming operation of the image forming portion if image size included in the image information supplied from the interface and size of the selected sheet do not coincide with each other in the printer base mode and that permits the image forming portion to start the image forming operation if the image size of the image information supplied from the interface and the size of the selected sheet do not coincide with each other in the scanner base mode.
Abstract:
A sheet stapling apparatus includes a storage unit for storing sheets ejected out from an image forming apparatus, and a stapling unit for stapling to the sheets stored in the storage unit. The sheet stapling apparatus can execute a first bending process for bending the feet of a staple which were pierced through the sheets to the inside and a second bending process for bending the feet of the staple which were pierced through the sheets to the outside. In the facsimile mode or the printer mode, the second bending process is executed.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a recycling automatic original document feeder for automatically feeding a plurality of originals mounted on an original mount to an image reading position and for discharging the originals so as to be returned onto the original mount after the images of the originals have been read. The apparatus further includes an original image reading device, an image recording device for recording the image on a recording medium, a mode inputting device for inputting an image forming mode, a copy-number setting device for setting a required number of image copies, a recording-medium conveying device including a recording-medium detection device, and an intermediate tray for storing the recording medium after image formation. The apparatus further includes a device for selecting switching between the first image forming mode and the second image forming mode, and an original-number counting device. When a recovering operation is performed after the occurrence of a jam, one of the first image forming mode and the second image forming mode is selected in accordance with the number of originals, the required number of remaining copies or a selection by an operator.
