Abstract: Methods and devices are presented for managing communications in an ephemeral communication system. In some embodiments, messages in the system are analyzed to determine a complexity value for the message. This may be based on various algorithms, models, or system associations. The complexity information may then be used to recommend an availability value for the message, and to set a deletion trigger for the message based on the recommended availability value. When criteria of the automatically set deletion trigger are met at a device receiving the message, the message is automatically deleted from the device. In some embodiments, this deletion trigger at the device may also be used to initiate deletion of the message from other parts of the system.

Abstract: A system to generate a graphical user interface to display a presentation of lenses (e.g. overlays or transforms for images and video clips) as part of a creator profile within a messaging system are presented. In one embodiment, a device is configured to display a plurality of lens tiles within such a profile interface, with a lens summary interface for each lens that can be reached directly from the plurality of lens tiles. In such a system, each lens tile includes a content image modified by a corresponding lens, and the lens summary interface for each lens includes a set of lens detail information, such as views, shares, availability settings, and such. Lens data and various other information may be communicated efficiently within a messaging system while maintaining close connection with the creator of the lens data using various additional aspects of the interface.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to systems for enhancing a first media item through the addition of a supplemental second media item. A user may provide a request to enhance a selected media item, and in response, an enhancement system retrieves and presents a curated collection of supplemental content to be added to the media, to the user. The user may review the curated collection of supplemental content, for example by providing a tactile input to scroll through the curated collection of content.

Abstract: Methods and devices are presented for managing communications in an ephemeral communication system. In some embodiments, messages in the system are associated with a default trigger for deleting each message following an initial viewing of the message. A non-ephemeral analysis module analyses elements of the message to identify any content elements indicating that a message status should be changed from a default ephemeral status to a non-ephemeral status. Following identification of such elements in the message, the message status is changed from ephemeral to non-ephemeral. Based on the non-ephemeral message status, a copy of the message may be automatically stored in a non-ephemeral format, or a default trigger for deletion of the message may be changed.
