Abstract:
An image forming device is provided to be able to make efficient use of an internal space while improving the detection accuracy, with which a detected body is detected. The image forming device according to the invention comprises a housing, a duct, through which an air in the housing is caused to flow, a detection portion arranged outside the duct to be displaced according to the presence of, or movement of a detected body, an operating portion that can be displaced in the duct, a detection element arranged in the duct to detect displacement of the operating portion, and a transmission portion that transmits displacement of the detection portion to the operating portion through an opening formed on the duct.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a fixing device having a heating member and a pressing member which is pressed against the heating member, the heating member and the pressing member holding and transporting a recording medium to thermally fix a developer on the recording medium; a peeling member that peels the recording medium off the heating member, the peeling member being disposed downstream, in a transport direction of the recording medium, of a holding position where the heating member and the pressing member hold the recording medium; and an interference prevention member that prevents the recording medium from interfering with the peeling member after being peeled off the heating member by the peeling member.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a main casing; a photosensitive member; a process cartridge that can be installed or removed with respect to the main casing along a removal path; a pick-up roller located above a sheet accommodating portion; and a feed path along which a sheet can be conveyed from the sheet accommodating portion to a discharge port. At least a part of the feed path is substantially parallel to the removal path and located between the sheet accommodating portion and the process cartridge when the process cartridge is installed in the main casing; and an image forming position where an image is transferred from the photosensitive member to the sheet is located along the feed path at a position lower than an upper surface of the pick-up roller in a verticle direction.
Abstract:
A fixing unit is disposed at a position closer to a rear side wall than to a front side wall of a casing. A top wall is formed with a depressed portion depressed toward inside the casing. The depressed portion serves as a sheet discharge tray for receiving a recording medium that has passed through the fixing unit. The sheet discharge tray includes a tray member detachably disposed at the top wall. The rear side wall is formed with an opening through which the fixing unit is removed. When the tray member is disposed at the top wall, the tray member is positioned above and adjacent to the fixing unit and overlaps the fixing unit when viewed through the opening, thereby preventing the fixing unit from being removed from the casing. The fixing unit is removable through the opening when the tray member is detached from the top wall.

Abstract:
A curl-correcting device includes a first curl-correcting section and a second curl-correcting section. The first curl-correcting section is disposed on a conveying path along which a recording medium is conveyed in a conveying direction. The first curl-correcting section corrects curl in a recording medium having a first thickness. The second curl-correcting section is disposed on the conveying path either upstream or downstream of the first curl-correcting section in the conveying direction. The second curl-correcting section corrects curl in a recording medium having a second thickness greater than the first thickness.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a main casing; a photosensitive member; a process cartridge that can be installed or removed with respect to the main casing along a removal path; a scanner unit located above the process cartridge when the process cartridge is installed in the main casing; a sheet accommodating portion located at a bottom portion of the main casing; a pick-up roller located above the sheet accommodating portion; and a feed path along which a sheet can be conveyed from the sheet accommodating portion to a discharge port. At least a part of the feed path is substantially parallel to the removal path and located between the sheet accommodating portion and the process cartridge when the process cartridge is installed in the main casing; the scanner unit includes a frame including a first portion having a first height and a second portion having a second height that is less than the first height, the second portion being located closer to the pick-up roller than the first portion; and an image forming position where an image is transferred from the photosensitive member to the sheet is located along the feed path at a position lower than an upper surface of the pick-up roller in a direction perpendicular to the removal path.
