    摘要: An arbitrary position of a pipe is clamped and a connector is engaged with the pipe. Then, an end portion of the pipe is expanded with a tool such as a diameter expanding punch so as to caulk the pipe to the connector from inside. As a pipe fluctuation-absorbing portion, which is a relief space of pipe material, is provided in a portion of an inner face of the connector, when the diameter-expanding portion is formed, an excess pipe material is absorbed there and the length of the pipe is reduced and adjusted to an appropriate value. A portion in which the pipe fluctuation-absorbing portion is formed is not limited to a forward end portion of the pipe but it may be formed on an inner face of the connector corresponding to an intermediate portion.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an photoconductive drum, a charger, an exposing device, a developing device and a transferring device. A photo-sensor is disposed around the photoconductive drum. The photo-sensor senses the intensity of the reflected light from the surface of the photoconductive drum and the reflected light from the reference toner image formed on the photoconductive drum. The intensity of the emitted light from photo-sensor is changed corresponding to a continuous lighting time of the photo-sensor. Therefore, the intensity is compensated in response to the continuous lighting time of the photo-sensor. As a result, accurate toner density is detected.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus and a method of aging a developer stored in the apparatus are disclosed. The developer is adequately aged in accordance with the initial characteristic of the developer and environmental conditions. As a result, the developer automatically achieves a desired developing characteristic in a short period of time. An image of high quality, i.e., free from background contamination and local omission can be stably produced even just after the aging. In addition, toner is prevented from flying about. Even erroneous sensing by an optical sensor can be obviated.

Alternatively, the feed roller further has a rotary cam on its shaft, so that the cam rotates to lift the original cover up as the feed roller rotates in the document feeding direction. Then, after the document is fed in place, the feed roller is reversely rotated in a constant time, whereby the document cover is sunk to press the document onto the original table.

    摘要: A developing device is provided with a toner container rotatable to a toner replenishing position. The toner container has a toner outlet in a wall of the container. This outlet includes an edge portion that is downstream in the direction of the rotation of the container that is jutted towards the center of toner container rotation which is inside the toner container. This inwardly jutted edge portion of the toner outlet provides a toner outlet profile having an edge that is lower than the other edge of the toner outlet in the direction of toner container rotation so that the lower edge does not engage into contact with a toner inlet on a wall of a developing chamber of a developing device until after the toner outlet is in a position overlapping at least most of the toner inlet. The toner container can further be provided with an internal plate mounted to pivot from a position where the plate extends along an inner surface of the toner container which is spaced from but generally faces the toner outlet and a position where the swinging end of the plate pivots closer to the toner outlet without blocking it so as to help expel any toner that may have become compacted near the toner outlet. A drive device is provided to rotate the container into a position in which it provides toner to the developing chamber of the development unit from the toner outlet of the toner container via the overlapped toner inlet with the plate swinging to its second position to insure that toner that may be massed near the outlet portion can be expelled.
