    摘要： An anchor system for a hollow wall or ceiling includes an anchor portion having a flange and a penetrating portion extending from a rear surface of the flange. The penetration portion has a fixed sleeve extending from the rear surface of the flange and a pivoting locking leg connected to the fixed sleeve by a hinge. The fixed sleeve has a non-round opening extending longitudinally therethrough and the pivoting locking leg has a stub extending from a rear surface thereof to retain the penetrating portion rigid as the anchor is inserted into the wall or ceiling. A pin portion has a body including a flexible shaft and an actuating element extending transversely from an end of the shaft. The shaft tapers, near the actuating element toward the actuating element to define a transverse dimension. The actuating element has a heel at about a rear surface thereof. When the pin is inserted into the opening, the actuating portion contacts the stub to separate the pivoting locking leg from the fixed sleeve portion and to pivot the pivoting locking leg portion toward an inner surface of the wall or ceiling. Rotating the pin engages the actuating element at the heel with the stub to lock the leg in place and the shaft flexes to accommodate rotation of the leg more than or less than 90 degrees to secure the leg against the inner surface.

    摘要： A method of making and applying a chemical anchoring adhesive in the form of a highly viscous, self-contained rope or slug is provided. The rope or slug has an average cross-sectional area determined from a formula that takes into account the cross-sectional area of a borehole, the average cross-sectional area of an anchor pin to be inserted into the borehole, and a penetration factor which reflects penetration of the adhesive into the walls of the borehole. By selecting the proper area for the anchoring adhesive, the rope can be cut into slugs having depths equal to the depths of boreholes. When the slugs are inserted into the boreholes, and anchor pins are driven, the amount of adhesive provided by each slug will be just enough to completely fill the interstitial spaces between the anchor pin and inner wall of the borehole, accounting for penetration of some adhesive into the borehole wall.

    摘要： An expansion anchor installable in a pre-drilled hole formed in a base material. The expansion anchor includes a bolt having a shaft with a head portion, an opposing end portion, and a threaded portion. A shoulder is disposed on the shaft intermediate the head portion and the end portion thereof, and an expandable sleeve is disposed about the shaft between the shoulder and the end portion of the shaft. The expandable sleeve has an expandable upper sleeve portion and an expandable lower sleeve portion wherein the expandable lower sleeve portion is expandable outwardly before the expandable upper sleeve portion is expandable outwardly. A nut having a substantially conical surface is fixed rotationally in the pre-drilled hole and is engagable with the threaded portion of the shaft. The substantially conical surface of the nut is engageable with the expandable lower sleeve portion so as to expand the lower sleeve portion until the nut is axially fixed in the pre-drilled hole. The advancing bolt is subsequently drawn into the pre-drilled hole and the shoulder of the shaft is engagable with the expandable upper sleeve portion so as to outwardly expand the upper sleeve portion, whereby the expandable upper and lower sleeve portions are engageable with the wall of the pre-drilled hole so as to retain the expansion anchor therein.
