    摘要: A heating system incorporating a heat generator confining therein a heat-generative fluid to viscously generate heat when a shearing action is applied to the fluid by a rotor element, and a heat-generation controller including a heat-generation adjusting actuator which adjustably changes the heat-generating performance of the heat generator on the basis of a signal detected as a first control signal indicating a change in the rotating speed of the rotor element and a preset reference signal. A second control signal detected to indicate a temperature of the heat-generative fluid is used to adjustably change the preset reference signal. The operation of the heating system is controlled by a method in which the first control signal is compared with the preset reference signal to determine whether or not the heat-generation adjusting actuator should actuated to change the heat-generating performance of the heat generator. The method is performed so as to adjust the preset reference signal on the basis of the second control signal which is detected by a temperature sensor.

    摘要: A torque limiting apparatus is located between a power source and a driven apparatus. A number of breakable power transmission members connect a drive rotor to a driven rotor. The breakable members are fractured to disconnect the driven rotor from the drive rotor when the load applied by the driven apparatus exceeds a predetermined value. A promoting member is located near at least one of the power transmission members for promoting breakage when the load causes the driven rotor to rotate relative to the drive rotor. The breakable members are broken consecutively. The breakable members are not significantly affected by fatigue.

    摘要: A heat generating apparatus having a housing assembly in which a working chamber including a heat generating region for heat generation and a fluid storing region for storing a viscous fluid, and a heat receiving chamber for receiving heat from the heat generating region are formed. The heat generating apparatus also having a rotor element mounted on a drive shaft to be rotated within the working chamber to apply a shearing action to the viscous fluid within the heat generating region. The viscous fluid generates heat when the shearing action is applied thereto so that the heat is transmitted to a heat exchanging liquid flowing through the heat receiving chamber. The heat generating region and fluid storing region communicating through an aperture formed in a partition wall formed in the working chamber, and the aperture having a gas-phase portion, a liquid-phase portion and a liquid supply portion.

A cylindrical shear applying portion being integral with a drive shaft and having an outer circumferential surface in cylindrical form is disposed in a heat generating chamber formed as a cylindrical space. The shear applying portion is machined with the same support arbors as used in machining the drive shaft. Preferably, the drive shaft and the shear applying portion are machined as a one-piece member made of a single rod-like material.

The heating chamber accommodates viscous fluid and a rotor rotatable to shear the viscous fluid for producing heat. The heat is transmitted to the heat exchange chamber from the heating chamber. The fluid in the heat exchange chamber is heated and flows to the fluid circuit.
