Abstract:
The present invention relates to the monitoring and correction of display errors in a matrix addressed display system. The display system comprises a graphics system, a display module and a display fault handling system including a memory. The display module has a matrix addressed electro-optical array of display elements, the display elements being arranged in rows and columns and having corresponding row and column circuit lines. The graphics system generates display data and sends this to the display module in order to activate using row and column circuit lines each of the display elements and thereby display visual information to a user of the system based on the display data. The display fault handling system is used to monitor over a period of time at least one electrical parameter of a plurality these circuit lines and determine whether or not a display error has occurred.
Abstract:
A rotary knob assembly having a lightpipe affixed to a push button within a rotary knob portion that may be rotatably affixed to a vehicle control panel. The lightpipe engages a halo ring surrounding the push button and is disposed between the push button and the rotary knob portion. The lightpipe has a plurality of concentric circles recessively disposed thereon to provide illumination to the knob assembly specifically, to the halo ring and a graphic display of the push button. The rotary knob assembly has a first light emitting diode in communication with the control panel to provide light to the lightpipe. Light is transmitted and refracted through the lightpipe illuminating the halo ring surrounding the push button as well as distributes light to the recessed portion or gaps between the plurality of concentric circles which allow light to flow directly to the graphic display of the push button.
Abstract:
An articulating instrument cluster, and a system and a method for managing an articulating information panel of a vehicle are provided. The system includes a state detection module to detect a state of the articulating instrument cluster; an information interfacing module to interface with a plurality of systems associated with the vehicle; an orientation module to determine an adjustment to a display based on the detected state; and a display driving module to control the display of the articulating information panel based on the determination of adjustment.
Abstract:
Methods and systems consistent with the present invention provide an improved sample-rate converter that overcomes the limitations of conventional sample-rate converters. The improved system comprises a simple asynchronous sample-rate converter and synchronous sample-rate converter. The output of the simple asynchronous sample-rate converter is connected to the input of the synchronous sample-rate converter. In an alternative embodiment, the output of the synchronous sample-rate converter is connected to the input of the simple asynchronous sample-rate converter.
Abstract:
Methods and systems consistent with the present invention provide an improved system that simulates a smart device user interface on a vehicle head unit. The method comprises the steps of storing a plurality of user interfaces, wherein each of the plurality of user interfaces is affiliated with a platform, and determining if a smart device matches one of the plurality of platforms. If it is determined that the smart device matches one of the plurality of platforms, the method further comprises the steps of retrieving the user interface affiliated with the matched platform, and using the matched user interface on the vehicle head unit.
Abstract:
A method for playing an original playlist and for substituting alternate versions of the songs during playback is disclosed. The user can set the extent to which the number and type of alternate versions are substituted into the original playlist.
Abstract:
An integrated user interface has a sensory surface operable to receive a selection signal from a user and send a corresponding command signal within a software system. The integrated user interface has a plurality of tactile features operable to provide a user with tactile feedback corresponding to the selection signal received by the sensory surface when simultaneously selected by the user. A method of integrating the hardware and software functionality for a user interface is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An impact absorbing body for attachment to a door trim is capable of bearing a collision load from an exterior panel at the time of a side collision. The impact absorbing body has a top face portion with linear edge portions and sidewall portions extending from the linear edge portions toward the door trim to provide a hollow box. The impact absorbing body also includes base portions connected to edge portions of the sidewall portions. The base portions are open toward the door trim and are attached to the door trim. The impact absorbing body also includes slits between adjacent sidewall portions, and the sidewall portions have outwardly slanted portions. In addition, rib members extend from the top face portion toward the base portion, toward the inside of the hollow box, and connect the adjacent sidewall portions.
Abstract:
A fluid management system for a cooling module of a vehicle air conditioning system. The cooling module includes a first heat exchanger in fluid communication with a liquid cooling system of the vehicle and a second heat exchanger disposed upstream of the first heat exchanger and in fluid communication with the vehicle air conditioning system, wherein the fluid management system minimizes an inlet fluid temperature of the second heat exchanger of the cooling module.
Abstract:
A pointer assembly includes a guide, a helical drive member supported in the guide, a motor for axially rotating the helical drive member, a follower carried by the helical drive member, and a pointer coupled to the follower and movable relative to the guide for indicating a measured value, wherein axial rotation of the helical drive member in a clockwise rotation causes the follower and the pointer to move in a first direction relative to the guide and axial rotation of the helical drive member in a counterclockwise rotation causes the follower and the pointer to move in a second direction relative to the guide.
