Abstract:
An autogenous flame spraying apparatus includes a supply line housing having gas supply lines for combustion gas, carrier gas and acceleration gas; a main housing connected to the supply line housing and having a supply line for a spray powder, and ducts communicating with the gas supply lines, the housing having a first injector for mixing the spray powder and the carrier gas to form a first mixture; an interchangeable nozzle carrier for carrying a releasable torch nozzle, the carrier being releasably attached to the main housing and having a second injector for mixing the combustion gas and the carrier gas to form a second mixture, the nozzle carrier also having ducts for conveying the first mixture and the second mixture to the torch nozzle, whereby the carrier can be replaced so as to alter both flame power and feed of spray powder.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an improved back flash preventing device for a powder spray torch wherein the improvement comprises a structure constructed to thwart attempts by the user to block the outlet end or atmosphere vent of the back flash preventer. This is accomplished by providing the outlet of the vent with a guard so constructed as to prevent the user closing the outlet with his finger, a covering tape or the like.
Abstract:
A safety double injector spray device or torch is provided for applying a spray coating to a substrate comprising, a torch body having a torch head at the end thereof, an oxygen duct and a fuel gas duct associated with said spray device and coupled to a first injector means for mixing oxygen and fuel gas therein, a fuel gas-oxygen mixing duct located forward of and coupled to said first injector means, a carrier gas duct associated with said spray device coupled to a second injector means for mixing spray powder with carrier gas fed to said duct, a carrier gas-spray powder mixing duct located forward of said second injector means, spray powder feeding means coupled to said torch body and communicating in powder feeding relationship with said carrier gas duct, and means forward of said first and said second injector means coupling said carrier gas-spray powder mixing duct and said fuel-gas oxygen mixing duct to said torch head.
