摘要： A cutting head for a cord-type mower driven by an engine is disclosed. The cutting head includes a rotor capable of rotating about an axis and a bobbin with a cord wound on it. The bobbin can rotate relatively to the rotor about the axis in the rotor. The cutting head includes two types of cord feeding systems. The first cord feeding system automatically feeds a cord in response to cord wear. The second cord feeding system feeds a cord in response to a manual tapping operation executed during driving of the cutting head. The second cord feeding system disconnects one of the bobbin and rotor from the engine in response to the tapping operation.

摘要： This invention provides a strut apparatus for supporting the head portion of a weed and grass cutting trimmer in a generally horizontal mode. The trimmer includes an elongated tubular member providing a handle. The support apparatus principally comprises a two-part telescoping strut in which a compression spring interposed between the telescoping members substantially supports the mass of the trimmer when the depending end portion of the strut is in contact with the surface of the earth and the trimming head is positioned at a predetermined distance from the surface of the earth. The trimmer is controlled in its weed trimming function by a user grasping the handle.

摘要： A bladed tool for use as a sod cutter, for breaking up the soil in gardens and as an edger. An elongate handle is attached to a blade having first, second and third edges which generally define a triangle. The handle is attached to the blade immediately adjacent the first edge so as to extend away from the second edge substantially parallel to the first edge. A plurality of serrations are disposed along the third edge. The serrations are preferably separated by grooves formed in the face of the blade, extending substantially parallel to the first edge, and grooves terminating at the third edge in respective notches. The serrations are about as wide or wider than the notches and the tips of the serrations are relatively wide in relation to the notches. Each serration has a leading edge and a trailing edge, the trailing edge having a portion substantially parallel to the first edge and a portion near the tip thereof which is beveled on one side of the blade so as to form a cutting edge. The intersection between the first edge and the third edge preferably forms an arcuate cutting edge by beveling one side of the blade.

The chargeable storage battery is structured so as to be quick-chargeable and external devices for quick-charging and trickle charging can be provided. A temperature contact lug can be provided for transmitting measured values of temperature for monitoring the quick charging.

摘要： An arrangement for holding an oil supply in a sharp-edged tool such as scissors, saws, etc. including a recess provided in the sharp-edged tool and an oil supply comprising an oil absorber and a holder. The oil supply is set in the recess so that it can be removed therefrom. The holder retains the oil absorber therein such that a part of the oil absorber sticks out of the holder. The oil absorber is made from materials which absorb oil. In use, the oil supply is taken out of the recess, and the oil in the oil absorber is applied to the sharp-edged tool when the oil absorber is rubbed along the edge of the blade of the tool.

摘要： A lawn edger wheel mechanism for laterally shifting a front wheel to clear an adjustable cutting blade of the lawn edger comprises a latched detent member defining a plurality of lateral wheel positions. The wheel can be laterally guided on a carrier located by a transverse support shaft, the carrier being prevented from rotating about the shaft by engagement with the detent member, the detent member being formed on a cross member of a base of the lawn edger. A lever, pivotably mounted to the base can engage a bearing member located on the carrier between the support shaft and the detent member for convenient lateral movement of the wheel without binding of the carrier.
