    摘要: In power conversion apparatus such as a naturally commutated cycloconverter for use in converting the output of a variable speed generator to a constant frequency, there is provided an end stop control circuit for ensuring commutation of power switching devices that includes timing wave generators for both rectification and inversion end stops. The timing wave generators are phase locked with the generator outputs but are controllable by end stop bias signal derived from a variable system parameter that may be independent of the source, such as load current to provide prompt protection against converter malfunctions due to excess load currents.Further provided is an excess current detector employing, for each phase, a pair of high slew rate, high current unipolar output op amps connected in a voltage follower configuration with a common pull-up resistor and a common load capacitor to develop a peak current signal representing the greater of the positive and negative peaks of the alternating phase current.

    摘要: An ozonizer power feeding device comprising a multiphase power source having at least one terminal for each phase, a thyristor circuit coupled to the terminals of the power source and including at least two thyristors for each phase connected at one side thereof in an anti-parallel configuration to a respective terminal of the source, a transformer having at least one primary coil coupled to the other sides of the anti-parallel connected thyristors and a secondary coil adapted to be connected to an ozonizer for feeding power to the ozonizer, and a joint control unit coupled to each of the thyristors for controlling the conduction time thereof in dependence on the waveforms provided at the terminals of the source in order to derive a composite waveform applied to the transformer primary, wherein the composite waveform has a high frequency than that of any of the phases of the power source, thereby increasing ozone production which is proportional to the frequency of the applied power.

    摘要: A variable frequency power supply device supplies an AC power to a squirrel-cage motor through an AC parameter control. The control receives a command active current resulting from a command torque and a command exciting current to generate a resultant current and its phase. The command torque is produced from the actual and command motor speeds and the exciting current is caused from the actual motor speed. The control also receives a command frequency determined by the actual motor frequency and a command slip frequency also resulting from the command torque. The control controls the firing phases of thyristors in the power supply device in response to the command current, phase and frequency. The control may generate a voltage for supplying the active current and an exciting voltage to similarly control the firing phases of the thyristors. In the latter case, the exciting voltage may be added with its differential to compensate for a rapid change in active current.

    摘要: Firing pulses to the thyristors in the nonload carrying bank of a naturally commutated power circuit of a static power converter are inhibited only after the current therethrough actually goes to zero. Where the thyristors are arranged in pulse groups, the firing pulses to each group are inhibited separately and in some instances not all groups in the nonload carrying bank are inhibited. Termination of current flow through a thyristor group is determined by comparing the group output voltage with a composite signal representative of the intended group voltage which is generated by summing selected portions of the source voltages applied to the group. Further firing of the thyristors in the group is inhibited only after the difference between these two signals exceeds a preset threshold value for an interval at least equal in duration to the thyristor reverse recovery time.

    摘要: The quality of the output waveform of a cycloconverter is greatly improved by a feedback loop that compensates for the inherent nonlinearity of the converter forward gain. A feedback signal, preferably proportional to the current through the shunt capacitor of the converter output filter, is multiplied by a compensating signal generated by full wave rectification of the cycloconverter AC reference signal with the resultant signal summed in opposition with the reference signal before it is applied to the converter control circuit. Alternatively a more precise compensating signal can be generated through 90.degree. phase shifting and negative going full wave rectification of the sinusoidal cycloconverter reference signal.

    摘要: An induction heating apparatus includes a pair of thyristors inversely parallel connected to receive power from a low frequency energy source, a commutating circuit and a gating control circuit for supplying control pulses to the thyristors to produce a forward halfwave current through the commutating circuit which in return produces a backward commutating current to the thyristors. The gating control circuit includes a pulse transformer having a pair of secondary windings connected to the thyristors and a primary winding responsive to control pulses supplied from a pulse generator to produce a positive gating pulse in each of the secondary windings to drive one of the thyristors into conduction depending on the polarity of the source voltage to produce the forward current. The control pulse has a longer duration than the maximum duration of the forward halfwave current so that upon cessation of the forward current the other thyristor is gated into conduction to allow the backward commutating current to pass therethrough to complete an oscillation cycle. A counterelectromotive force is generated in the secondary windings in response to the trailing edge of the positive gating pulse to negatively bias the thyristor to quickly turn it off.

    摘要: A circuit arrangement is disclosed comprising a converter for converting a three-phase system of sinusoidal voltages into three trapezoidal control voltages for controlling control units serving three direct cycloconverters. More particularly, in accord with the invention, the converter acts on the sinusoidal control voltages such that during each region from .pi./3 to 2.pi./3 of a half-wave of each particular voltage that voltage is reduced to .sqroot.3/2 times its peak value, while the other two voltages are amplified or increased by an amount equal to the difference between the aforesaid peak value and .sqroot.3/2 times such peak value.
