Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for querying parameter information, and an apparatus for returning parameter information. The protocol layer that receives a query request establishes a correspondence between an acquired parameter value and a parameter name and returns the parameter value and the corresponding parameter name to the protocol layer that sends the query result. This can decrease the complexity of implementing the query mechanism. In addition, with the present invention, the MIH layer can also notify the upper layer/MIH users/NMS entity of the query result when returning the queried state information to the upper layer/MIH users/NMS entity.
