摘要: A thermal spray powder including cermet particles, each of which contains metal containing at least one selected from the group consisting of cobalt, chrome, and nickel, and tungsten carbide. The ratio of the summed weight of cermet particles having a particle size of 25 μm or more in the thermal spray powder with respect to the summed weight of the entire cermet particles in the thermal spray powder is 0.5 to 15%. A thermal spray coating formed from the thermal spray powder is suitable for the formation of a tungsten carbide-based cermet thermal spray coating for use in rolls such as corrugated rolls.

摘要: A thermal spraying powder includes granulated and sintered particles of an yttrium-aluminum double oxide obtained by granulating and sintering a raw powder containing yttrium and aluminum. The total volume of fine pores having a diameter of 6 μm or less in one gram of the granulated and sintered particles is 0.06 to 0.25 cm3. The thermal spraying powder reliably forms a thermal spray coating that is suitable for use where the thermal spray coating is subjected to a thermal shock in a corrosive atmosphere or an oxidative atmosphere and for use where the thermal spray coating is subjected to a thermal shock in a state where the thermal spray coating contacts a member that has reactivity to a base material.

摘要: A reflector electrode is provided with hills and valleys thereon, and the reflector electrode is formed on an inside face of a transparent substrate having a transparent electrode and an opposite substrate. Light-scattering-liquid-crystal is provided with forward-scattering component and back-scattering component, so that scattering of reflected light from the reflector electrode is increased when the light-scattering-liquid-crystal is transparent. As a result, contrast is less dependent on a viewing angle, and a brighter quality display with higher color purity can be obtained.

摘要: A color liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal cell and a polymer film. The liquid crystal cell comprises a liquid crystal layer positioned between a pair of transparent substrates, on whose innersides transparent electrodes are provided. The polymer film is positioned at one side of the liquid crystal cell. The liquid crystal layer and the polymer film are sandwiched by a pair of polarization films. A twist angle of the liquid crystal layer is set to be a predetermined value. The product of birefringence of the nematic liquid crystal, .DELTA.n.sub.LC, and a thickness of liquid crystal layer, d.sub.LC, .DELTA.n.sub.LC .multidot.d.sub.LC is set to be a predetermined value. The birefringence difference .DELTA.(R)=R.sub.Film -.DELTA.n.sub.LC .multidot.d.sub.LC, which is defined by using the .DELTA.n.sub.LC .multidot.d.sub.LC and retardation of the polymer film, R.sub.Film, is set to be a value between 0.0 .mu.m and 0.1 .mu.m. The present color liquid crystal device can express a black and white display in achromatic color having bright white and with high contrast, and a red display with high color purity.
