摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting and receiving information in a broadcasting/communication system. The method includes comparing a number of bits of an information word to be transmitted with a predetermined threshold value; if the number of bits of the information word is less than the predetermined threshold value, determining a first parameter pair; if the number of bits of the information word is not less than the predetermined threshold value, determining a second parameter pair; determining a number of bits to be punctured based on one of the first parameter pair and the second parameter pair; and puncturing the determined number of bits to be punctured, with respect to parity bits of a codeword generated by encoding the information word.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for encoding, transmitting, and receiving signaling information in a broadcasting/communication system are provided. The method includes generating the signaling information which comprises a plurality of pieces; determining a number of coded blocks to which the signaling information is to be encoded, based on a number of bits of the signaling information and a number of encoder input information bit; segmenting each piece of the signaling information based on the number of the coded blocks; constructing input information bits of each coded block to include segmented parts of each piece of the signaling information; encoding the input information bits to each coded block; and transmitting each coded block.

摘要： A method and apparatus for generating Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes of various block lengths from a structured LDPC code in a communication system is provided. To support various block lengths, predefined rules are applied to a parity check matrix of an LDPC code, and then shortening is selectively applied to the parity check matrix. Subsequently, if information data bits are input, the input data information bits are encoded into an LDPC codeword by using the parity check matrix according to a preset encoding scheme, and then the encoded LDPC codeword is transmitted after puncturing is selectively applied.

摘要： An apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving a signal in a communication system are provided. The signal transmission apparatus generates a parity check matrix for an LDPC code in accordance with a code rate to be used and generates a codeword vector by encoding an information vector using the parity check matrix. When the code rate is a first code rate, the signal transmission apparatus generates a first parity check matrix as the parity check matrix for the LDPC code. When the code rate is the second code rate, the signal transmission apparatus generates a second parity check matrix supporting a second code rate lower than the first code rate by adding columns of a degree of 1 and columns of a degree of 2 to the first parity check matrix and generates the second parity check matrix as the parity check matrix for the LDPC code.

摘要： A method for generating a parity check matrix of a block LDPC code. The parity check matrix includes an information part corresponding to an information word and a first parity part and a second parity part each corresponding to a parity. The method includes determining a size of the parity check matrix based on a coding rate applied when coding the information word with the block LDPC code, and a codeword length; dividing a parity check matrix with the determined size into a predetermined number of blocks; classifying the blocks into blocks corresponding to the information part, blocks corresponding to the first parity part, and blocks corresponding to the second parity part; arranging permutation matrixes in predetermined blocks from among the blocks classified as the first parity part, and arranging identity matrixes in a full lower triangular form in predetermined blocks from among the blocks classified as the second parity part; and arranging the permutation matrixes in the blocks classified as the information part such that a minimum cycle length is maximized and weight values are irregular on a factor graph of the block LDPC code.

摘要： An apparatus is provided for transmitting a signal in a communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. A controller determines a number of ‘0’s to be inserted in information data according to a first coding rate to be applied when generating the information data into an LDPC code, and determines the number of ‘0’s to be removed from the LDPC code. A ‘0’ inserter inserts ‘0s’ in the information data according to control of the controller. An LDPC encoder generates the LDPC code by encoding the ‘0’-inserted signal according to a first parity check matrix. A ‘0’ remover removes the inserted ‘0’s from the LDPC code.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for receiving data in a receiver of a communication system. In the receiver, a first calculator calculates a Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) value of data transmitted from a transmitter, a decoder performs iterative decoding on the transmitted data using the LLR value calculated by the first calculator. A second calculator determines whether there is an error in the decoded data by calculating an error of the data decoded by the decoder. A storage stores an LLR value of the decoded data according to the determination result of the second calculator. An adder adds up the LLR value calculated by the first calculator and the LLR value stored in the storage. A controller performs a control operation such that if the data transmitted from the transmitter is retransmitted data, the decoder performs iterative decoding using the LLR value added by the adder, and if the data transmitted from the transmitter is not retransmitted data, the decoder performs iterative decoding using the LLR value calculated by the first calculator.

摘要： An apparatus and method for decoding a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code having a maximum error correction capability and an error detection capability. In the apparatus, a decoder receives a signal, and decodes the received signal according to a second parity check matrix having parity check expressions obtained by selecting a predetermined number of dependent parity check expressions among dependent parity check expressions generated by combining, with a predetermined scheme, parity check expressions representing rows of a first parity check matrix obtained by encoding information data into a block code having an optimum minimum distance considering a predetermined coding rate, and adding the selected dependent parity check expressions to the parity check expressions of the first parity check matrix. An error detector determines if there is an error in a signal output from the decoder.
