Abstract:
A recip blade has a cutting edge defining a cutting direction and a repeating pattern of cutting teeth. Each repeating pattern includes (i) a leading tooth with respect to the cutting direction that includes a rake face defining a first rake angle that is negative, and (ii) a trailing tooth following the leading tooth with respect to the cutting direction that includes a rake face defining a second rake angle that is less negative than the first rake angle.
Abstract:
A hack saw comprises a proximal end, a proximal handle located at the proximal end, and a distal end spaced from the proximal handle for mounting a hack saw blade therebetween. The handle includes a proximal cavity at a base end thereof, dimensioned to allow a portion of a proximal pin holder therethrough, and a proximal pin holder retaining member within the proximal handle proximally spaced from the proximal cavity, defining a slot therebetween for retention of a pin holder therein. The pin holder retaining member is positioned to form an interference with the proximal pin holder when the pin holder is located in the handle and prevents the proximal pin holder from dislodging or being removed therefrom.
Abstract:
A band saw blade may include a cutting edge defining a cutting plane and configured to engage a workpiece during movement of the band saw blade in a cutting direction, and a back edge located on an opposite side of the band saw blade relative to the cutting edge and defining a repeating back edge pattern. The back edge pattern may include, in sequential order, a ramp-down section defining an acute ramp-down angle relative to a plane parallel to the cutting plane, a first ramp-up section defining a first acute ramp-up angle relative to the plane parallel to the cutting plane, an intermediate section oriented at least substantially parallel to the cutting plane, a second ramp-up section defining a second acute ramp-up angle relative to the plane parallel to the cutting plane, and a spacing section oriented at least substantially parallel to the cutting plane.
Abstract:
A reciprocating saw blade has a first end with a first tang and a second end with a second tang. The first and second tangs are alternatively engageable with the chuck of a reciprocating saw. The reciprocating saw blade defines a substantially uniform cutting edge extending from approximately the first end to approximately the second end of the blade. The first tang is engageable with the chuck of the reciprocating saw for fixedly securing the first end of the blade to the reciprocating saw and forming with the second tang the free end of the saw blade. Alternatively, the second tang is engageable with the chuck of the reciprocating saw for fixedly securing the second end of the blade to the reciprocating saw and forming with the first tang the free end of the reciprocating saw blade drivable in a reciprocating motion by the reciprocating saw.
Abstract:
A drill bit has a shank adapted to be attached to a power tool and a cutting portion adapted to drill a hole in a material. A collar is spaced along the length of the drill bit to set a depth distance that the drill bit is allowed to be inserted into a material being drilled. The drill bit further comprises a first engagement structure. A sleeve comprises a second engagement structure that is releasably engageable with the first engagement structure. The sleeve further comprises a coupling mechanism for connecting the sleeve to a fastener driver.
