摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed that comprise a cache memory for storing a copy of a portion of data stored in a system memory and a cache load circuit capable of retrieving the portion of data from the system memory. The systems and methods further comprise a status memory for identifying whether or not a region of the cache memory contains data that has been accessed from the cache memory by an external device.

摘要: A protective plate assembly comprises a plurality of overlapping rigid plates (1, 2, 3) for covering a wearer's chest and abdomen, the plates being attached together such that the amount of overlap between successive plates is variable. Elements (13, 16) of compressible material are provided, distributed on an inner side of the assembly, such that when the amount of overlap between the plates (1, 2, 3) increases, the elements move closer together in the direction in which said overlap increases, and vice versa. Two adjacent plates of the assembly are attached to each other by means of a peg (12) extending from one of said plates, which peg is captive within a slot (9) on the other of said plates, the slot running substantially perpendicular to the overlapping edges of the plates.

摘要: A method for generating and implementing personalized exercise and diet regimens includes initial steps of inputting into an electronic device with a graphical user interface personal data, exercise and diet goals, and a database of food items and related nutritional information; subsequently generating exercise and diet programs correlated to the personal data and goals. Implementing the personalized exercise regimen includes inputting the most recently completed exercise course, outputting a recommended next exercise course correlated with the most recently completed exercise course and the personalized exercise regimen, and performing the exercises. Implementing the diet regimen includes selecting at least one food item which is about to be purchased or consumed, and inputting data identifying the food item and nutritional values. These data are correlated with the recommended diet program; and output is displayed providing recommendations regarding purchase of that food item and suitable alternatives.

摘要: Provided is a method, system, and program for processing Input/Output (I/O) requests to a storage network including at least one storage device and at least two adaptors, wherein each adaptor is capable of communicating I/O requests to the at least one storage device. An error is detected in a system including a first adaptor, wherein the first adaptor is capable of communicating on the network after the error is detected. In response to detecting the error, a master switch timer is started that is less than a system timeout period if the first adaptor is the master. An error recovery procedure in the system including the first adaptor would be initiated after the system timeout period has expired. An operation is initiated to designate another adaptor in the storage network as the master if the first adaptor is the master in response to detecting an expiration of the master switch timer.

摘要: Non-permanent occlusion of the uterine arteries is sufficient to cause the demise of uterine myomata without unnecessarily exposing other tissues and anatomical structures to hypoxia attendant to prior permanent occlusion techniques. A therapeutically effective transient time of occlusion of a uterine artery to treat uterine fibroid tumors is from 1 hours to 24 hours, and preferably is at least about 4 hours. A therapeutically effective temporary time of occlusion of a uterine artery to treat uterine fibroid tumors is from 1 day (24 hours) to 7 days (168 hours), and preferably is about 4 days (96 hours). By invaginating the tissues of the vaginal wall up to or around a uterine artery, collapse of the uterine artery can be achieved without penetrating tissue of the patient.

摘要: A powered paint removal tool having a rotating abrasive disk for removing paint, with the disk resiliently mounted for deflection out of perpendicular to a driving shaft axis, and which operates in a range of about 780 to about 4200 surface feet per minute. The tool has a folding handle that may be positioned to a storage position adjacent the body of the tool, and which may, selectively be positioned to an operating position generally perpendicular to the body of the tool, with a locking feature to hold the handle in either of the operating and storage positions. A cam surface urges the handle from an intermediate position toward the storage position.

摘要: Devices, systems and methods for occluding blood vessels include a deployable constrictor having opposed pressure-applying portions, a delivery shaft configured to intravaginally advance the constrictor to the patient's cervix, a location sensor configured to detect a blood vessel, a deployment member for deploying the constrictor about the patient's cervix, and optionally a guide. The constrictor has a first configuration to receive a cervix and a second configuration to apply pressure to the cervical area to occlude a uterine artery by compression from the pressure-applying members. The pressure-applying members may be released from the cervix after a limited therapeutically effective time. The invention finds use in, for example, treating uterine disorders and conditions which may be treated by occlusion of the uterine arteries, such as uterine fibroids, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, post-partum hemorrhage, and bleeding associated with caesarian sections.

摘要: The disclosure is directed to a sanitary collapsible pet waste retrieval and storage device that is simple and easy to operate. The device includes a bag and a pair of panels attached to opposing sides of the bag. The panels and bag are sized and configured such that rotating and moving scraping edges of the panels together scoops waste into the bag and positions the scraping edges within the bag.
