Abstract:
A floor cleaning device (10) includes a housing (40) and a container (43) removably received by the housing. A suction nozzle (18, 18′, 18″) is fluidly connected with the container and with a suction source (52) when the container is. received by the housing. A filter (114) is selectively fluidly connected with the container and with the suction source. A float (170) selectively closes the fluid connection of the filter with the container. The filter and the float may be removable as a unit (42) from the cleaning device. The nozzle may be removable, allowing an appropriate nozzle to be selected according to the type of floor surface to be cleaned.
Abstract:
A process uses pressure changes and a pressure compensation factor to estimate the rate at which neutral atoms are implanted. While implanting a first wafer using a first pressure compensation factor, the rate at which ions are implanted is determined. The first wafer is moved radially with respect to an ion beam while implanting ions into the first wafer so as to achieve a uniform total dose based on the rate at which ions are implanted and the estimated rate at which neutral atoms are implanted. The pressure is determined while implanting the first wafer, determining the pressure. A second pressure compensation factor is selected, that would have achieved a uniform rate of implanted ions plus implanted neutral atoms across a surface of the first wafer. The second pressure compensation factor is different from the first pressure compensation factor. The second pressure compensation factor is used to implant a second wafer. The second wafer is tested by forming a sheet resistance contour map. If the sheet resistant contour map shows uniform resistance across the wafer, the second pressure compensation factor is used to implant wafers subsequent to the second wafer.
Abstract:
A cache system and caching methods that are used to improve data delivery service provided by a data distribution system. The present invention uses a master cache in which predictive harvesting of content is performed based upon probability distributions of individual caches satisfying requests from users. Content in the master cache is distributed to user sites by way of the data distribution system, and local caches at user sites are automatically loaded with incoming content.
Abstract:
A receptacle venting and freshening device for facilitating removal of liners from trash cans includes a tube, which has a first surface that is complementary to a face of a receptacle. A top of the tube is positioned proximate to an upper end of the receptacle and a bottom of the tube rests on a lower end of the receptacle. A plurality of fasteners is coupled to the first surface and is configured to couple the tube to the receptacle. A hanger, coupled to an interior surface of the tube proximate to the top, is configured to retain an air freshener unit. A plurality of cutouts, positioned in the tube proximate to the bottom, is configured to allow air to flow over the air freshener unit to exit from the tube through the cutouts as a liner positioned in the receptacle is withdrawn from the receptacle to freshen the receptacle.
Abstract:
A tool assembly having a housing body with a top portion and a bottom portion. The took assembly may have an axis defined by the housing body and extending through the top portion and the bottom portion, an opening defined in the housing and extending from an outer surface of the housing body towards the axis, a notch defined in the housing along the opening, and a module base having a collar. Wherein the module base is positionable within the opening and when the collar is at least partially positioned within the notch, the module base is at least partially positioned within the opening and restricted from moving axially along the axis relative to the housing body.
Abstract:
A method of operating a nuclear reactor is disclosed. The reactor (1) encloses a core having a plurality of fuel rods (9). Each fuel rod (9) includes a cladding and fuel pellets of a nuclear fuel. The fuel pellets are arranged in an inner space of the cladding leaving a free volume comprising an upper plenum, a lower plenum and a pellet-cladding gap. The reactor is operated at a normal power and a normal inlet sub-cooling during a normal state. The reactor is monitored for detecting a defect on the cladding of any of the fuel rods. The operation of the reactor is changed to a particular state after detecting such a defect. The particular state permits an increase of the free volume in the defect fuel rod. The reactor is operated at the particular state during a limited time period, after which the reactor is operated at the normal state.
Abstract:
A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes receiving at a network element having a binding table a packet that is part of a flow, the binding table having an entry corresponding to the flow, the entry mapping the flow to a first one of a plurality of endpoints and recognizing that a state of the first one of the plurality of endpoints at the first network element is not active. The method further includes, determining that the state of the first one of the plurality of endpoints at a second network element mated with the first network element and having a binding table similar to the binding table of the first network element is active. The method still further includes, directing the flow to the first one of the plurality of endpoints via the second network element.
Abstract:
The system for monitoring and dispensing medical items which are dispensed for administration to patients includes a data terminal (76, 338) which is connected through a network (82, 328) to at least one remote computer (84, 324) having a processor and a data store. The system also includes a reading device (348) which is connected to the network. A user of the data terminal or the reading device is enabled to select a patient for whom medical items will be used, and responsive to a request to dispense items the requested items are dispensed from dispensing devices (96, 100, 344, 346, 450, 527) connected to the data terminal. A report generating device (384) generates reports (388) which include machine readable indicia corresponding to patients and/or medical items. Users may select patients and dispense medications by reading the indicia from the reports using the reading device. Certain storage locations are also labeled with machine readable indicia which may be read to indicate the taking of items therefrom as well as to indicate inventory status information. One such dispensing device in the system is a refrigerator (450) which is retrofit with a refrigerator lock module (452) which selectively enable access to medical items stored in an interior area thereof.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a vehicular fluid heater (3), in particular to an automotive water heater. The vehicular fluid heater (3) comprises at least one heat exchanger (8) and at least one electrically operated heating unit (9), the heat exchanger (8) comprising at least one thermally conductive body defining at least one fluid channel for the fluid to be heated and sealing covers (16a, 16b) sealing the front and rear ends of the thermally conductive body, at least one cover (16a) having an inlet and/or outlet for establishing fluid flow, the heating unit (9) being joint to a heat-conductive surface of the thermally conductive body. The sealing covers (16a, 16b) are made from a pressure deformable material and are held in position by a housing and closing the fluid heater (FIG. 3).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to geopolymer compositions, methods of producing the compositions, and uses thereof. The geopolymer compositions broadly are comprised of a geopolymer binder and an aggregate and, once cured, can exhibit compressive strengths in excess of that of Portland cement-based concrete formulations. The geopolymer composition of the present invention adheres to most surfaces and can b used in the formation of a mortarless building block, floor screed, bench, building block brick, support column or pre-molded column, beam, paving stone, tiles, stone accouterment for a garden, countertop, bathtub, sink, a geopolymer slab, a structural geopolymer composition, a reinforced geopolymer composition, a steel reinforced geopolymer composition, or as a substitute for structural concrete in foundations, beams, columns, or slab with the addition as necessary of steel reinforcement.
