摘要: A computer-implemented method for classifying a reconstruction includes receiving an uncategorized reconstruction and applying a trained classification function configured to classify the uncategorized reconstruction into one of a plurality of categories. The plurality of categories are based on a labeled data-set including a plurality of labeled reconstructions. The trained classification function uses reconstruction-invariant features for classification. The method further includes storing a label indicating a selected one of the plurality of categories for the uncategorized reconstruction.

摘要: A multi-modality imaging system allows for selectable photoelectric effect and/or Compton effect detection. The camera or detector is a module with a catcher detector. Depending on the use or design, a scatter detector and/or a coded physical aperture are positioned in front of the catcher detector relative to the patient space. For low energies, emissions passing through the scatter detector continue through the coded aperture to be detected by the catcher detector using the photoelectric effect. Alternatively, the scatter detector is not provided. For higher energies, some emissions scatter at the scatter detector, and resulting emissions from the scattering pass by or through the coded aperture to be detected at the catcher detector for detection using the Compton effect. Alternatively, the coded aperture is not provided. The same module may be used to detect using both the photoelectric and Compton effects where both the scatter detector and coded aperture are provided with the catcher detector. Multiple modules may be positioned together to form a larger camera, or a module is used alone. By using modules, any number of modules may be used to fit with a multi-modality imaging system. One or more such modules may be added to another imaging system (e.g., CT or MR) for a multi-modality imaging system.

摘要: Systems and methods include determination of an entropy value associated with each of a plurality of voxels of a three-dimensional image, determination, for each of the plurality of voxels, of a respective filter based on the entropy value associated with the voxel, wherein a first filter determined for a first voxel associated with a first entropy value is different from a second filter determined for a second voxel associated with a second entropy value different from the first entropy value, application, for each of the plurality of voxels, of the respective filter to a value of the voxel to generate a replacement value for the voxel, and generation of a filtered three-dimensional image based on the generated replacement value of each of the plurality of voxels.

摘要: A medical imaging and/or radiotherapy apparatus incorporates a display for projecting a visible image to a patient lying on a patient table. A projector that projects the visible image moves in tandem with the patient table, so that it appears relatively motionless to the patient. In exemplary embodiments, the projector projects the visible image within a patient tunnel of the medical apparatus, including in some embodiments, an extended field of view medical imaging apparatus. In other exemplary embodiments, the projector projects the visible image on a screen above the patient table of a tunnel-less medical apparatus. The projector remains outside the imaging line of response of detectors within the imaging field or outside of the radiotherapy beam zone, to avoid potential degradation of the captured diagnostic image or degradation of the radiotherapy beam.

摘要: Systems and methods include control of a nuclear imaging scanner to acquire nuclear imaging scan data of a body, control of a computed tomography scanner to acquire computed tomography scan data of the body, identification of one or more internal volumes of the body based on the nuclear imaging scan data, each of the one or more internal volumes associated with radioactivity greater than a threshold level, determination, for each of the one or more internal volumes, of a classification indicating a degree of clinical interest based at least in part on the radioactivity associated with the internal volume, generation of an attenuation coefficient map based on the computed tomography scan data, determination of a scanning speed associated with each of a plurality of scanning coordinates based on locations of the one or more internal volumes, the classification determined for each of the one or more of the internal volumes, and the attenuation coefficient map, and control of the nuclear imaging scanner to scan the body over each of the scanning coordinates at the associated scanning speed.

摘要: A framework for automatically finding an organ in image data. In accordance with one aspect, a predetermined view of the organ is approximated by transforming the original image data to generate transformed image data. A best-match region in the transformed image data that best matches a synthesized geometric shape may then be found. The best-match region may be transformed into a volume space of the original image data to generate a location of the organ.

摘要: Provided is a novel medical image scanner gantry that includes at least one annular nozzle opening within the patient tunnel where the at least one annular nozzle opening directs a flow of pressurized air toward the back end of the patient tunnel which draws an amount of the ambient air into the patient tunnel to supplement the flow of pressurized air in the patient tunnel to help improve the patient's comfort.
