    Abstract: The imaging lens comprises, successively in order from the object side, a positive first lens group that does not move during focusing, a second lens group that moves during focusing, a stop, and a positive third lens group that consists of all lenses moving integrally with the second lens group during focusing. The composite focal length of the second lens group and the third lens group is positive. The first lens group includes four or more positive lenses and three or more negative lenses. The imaging lens satisfies predetermined conditional expressions.

    Abstract: Provided are an imaging apparatus, an imaging method, and a program that can directly determine a sensor position at which an image with good image quality is obtained from obtained image information. The imaging apparatus moves an image sensor to a plurality of sensor positions in the optical axis direction of an imaging lens, and focuses a subject at each of the plurality of sensor positions. Image data of the subject focused at each of the plurality of sensor positions is acquired, and the image data is analyzed to calculate an image evaluation value at each of the plurality of sensor positions.

    Abstract: A variable magnification optical system consists of, in order from an object side, a first optical system remaining stationary during changing magnification and a second optical system including a plurality of lens groups moving during changing magnification. The first optical system includes a first mirror and a second mirror having reflective surfaces arranged to face each other. The first mirror is an optical element having a power at a position closest to the object side on an optical path and has a reflective surface concave toward the object side. The second mirror has a reflective surface convex toward the image side. An intermediate image is formed between the second mirror and the second optical system.

    Abstract: There are provided a lens, a zoom lens, and an imaging lens capable of eliminating blurriness of a ring zone without reducing resolution and increasing the number of steps of processing. A lens 1 has random unevenness within an optical effective diameter D of an optical surface 2, an arithmetic mean roughness Ra within the optical effective diameter D of the optical surface 2 is 20 nm or more and 50 nm or less, and an average value of widths W of protrusion portions 3 of the unevenness on an average line C2 of a roughness curve C1 of the optical surface 2 is 1/200 or more and 1/50 or less of the optical effective diameter D of the optical surface 2. The lens 1 is suitably used as a lens that composes a zoom lens or an imaging lens.

    Abstract: A variable magnification optical system includes, in order from the object side: a positive first lens group; a negative second lens group; a positive third lens group; a negative fourth lens group; and a positive fifth lens group. When changing magnification from the wide angle end to the telephoto end, the first and third lens groups are fixed with respect to an image formation plane, the second lens group moves toward the image side, the fourth lens group moves, and the distance between the fourth and fifth lens groups changes. A rearward lens group constituted by the third, fourth, and fifth lens groups has a positive refractive power throughout the variable magnification range. The transverse magnification ratio of the fourth lens group when focused on an object at infinity is negative throughout the variable magnification range.
