摘要: Peer-to-peer communications between vehicles providing warning of a collision or near-collision event and/or collision avoidance is controlled by otherwise underutilized air bag deployment processors in respective vehicles. Direction of reception of warning signals is used to selectively control relaying of warning signals at differentiated warning levels, collision avoidance actions and/or in-vehicle warning alarms to operators of vehicles in the vicinity of an event.

摘要: A method of archiving email that includes receiving an email on an email server, determining whether to archive the email based upon received archive control commands and then archiving the a copy of the email in native format in a pre-designated file system on the email server. The method further comprises deleting the email from the mailbox and using a store function to trigger backup program, which moves the file from the pre-designated file system onto the backup server.

摘要: A system, computer program product and method of preventing recordation of true keyboard acoustic emanations are provided. In an embodiment, it is determined whether a user has stricken a key on a keyboard. In response to the stricken key a keystroke sound from a mask which is dissimilar to a keystroke sound produced by the stricken key is emitted to drown out the keystroke sound of the stricken key. In another embodiment, when a plurality of keys is stricken, a random keystroke sound is emitted between keystroke sounds made by two stricken keys to blur out word boundaries.

摘要: The user of a mobile device such as a cellular telephone can locate a lost or misplaced telephone by remotely adjusting the volume of the ring tone such that it is audible enough to for the user to hear it. The user will be able to call his/her own device. Once connected to the device, the user will be provided with the option to remotely change their ringer tone (e.g., from vibrate or low ringer volume to high ringer volume). Another feature is that the device will be able to provide information about its physical location in the event the owner is not in the same proximate area of the device. Third, the device will also have an emergency amount of power reserved exclusively for this retrieval process.

摘要: In a graphical user interface or other similar processing environment, functionality is provided that enables the selecting of multiple portions of non-contiguous content, and enables such functionality within the same application and also across different applications. Further, a “direct save” function is enabled that allows the user to directly save the multiple portions of selected content to a file. In addition, selected content portions can be categorized, and a mechanism is provided to allow the user to conveniently make use of these various categories for effective content viewing.

摘要: A system and method are provided for supplying a specified minimum level of power to a laptop computer or other device during a battery replacement procedure. In the system, a first battery has a plurality of terminal pairs, each terminal pair comprising positive and negative terminals. The system further includes a battery interface comprising two pairs of contact points, the contact points of each pair adapted to engage corresponding terminals of one of the terminal pairs to couple power from the first battery to the laptop. The power provided to the device by either of the terminal pairs is sufficient to supply the specified minimum level of power. A structure is configured to selectively support the first battery in both normal operating and battery exchange positions, with respect to the battery interface, so that the terminals of at least one terminal pair are always engaged with contact points of a contact pair when the first battery is in the normal operating or the exchange position, or is being moved therebetween. A second battery, substantially identical to the first battery, is adapted for placement with respect to the structure to bring terminals of a terminal pair of the second battery into engagement with contacts of one of the contact pairs, when the first battery is in the battery exchange position.

摘要: A method, system, and computer program product for detecting a tailgate event between two vehicles moving in a forward motion is provided. The two vehicles include a first and second vehicle, one of the two vehicles being an offending vehicle and the other of the two vehicles being an affected vehicle. The method includes determining a distance between the two vehicles. The first vehicle is ahead of the second vehicle. The method also includes calculating a safe distance range between the two vehicles based upon one or more of speed, weight, and safe braking range values of at least one of the two vehicles. The method further includes comparing the distance and the safe distance range and activating a recording device on the affected vehicle if the distance is less than the safe distance range indicating an unacceptable range value, the offending vehicle being responsible for causing the unacceptable range value.

摘要: A method, system, and computer program product for providing an intelligent event notification system. The method includes selecting a type of event notification for an event. Determining the type of event notification is based in part on information elements associated with the event. The method also includes determining at least one optimal alert system to receive an event notification corresponding to the type of event notification selected. The determination is based in part on information elements associated with the event. The method further includes associating an alert trigger with the event notification and transmitting the event notification to the at least one optimal alert system upon activation of the alert trigger.

摘要: An unsolicited instant ad manager manages the display of unsolicited instant web advertisements such as pop-up and pop-under ads. Unsolicited instant ads are moved to a secondary browser window, container, or file and aggregated. Transferred ads can be viewed by accessing a master instant ad window. The transferred ads maintain their original appearance and functionality. Otherwise, the ads may be presented in digest form or as a log. The user may view the advertisements by scrolling through a window displaying the ads. Additional information may be appended to the ad display. The user may be notified when an ad is trapped and moved. The unsolicited instant ad manager may activate hyperlinks in the ads to mimic interaction by the user. Desired actions performed by a web page utilizing the functionality of a pop-up window are allowed; advertisements are disallowed. Advertisements may be further filtered by criteria such as keyword.
