摘要： Liquid level responsive apparatus is provided which includes a tube having a lower terminal end immersed in the liquid in a container uncovered when the liquid level is below the terminal end for discharge of air from the tube, the tube having a small electric motor driven air pump supplying air thereto, the tube having a pressure tap connected to one side of a diaphragm for normally maintaining the diaphragm in one control position, the diaphragm being collapsible to another control position, the tube having a vent of predetermined size for limited venting of air from the tube while the diaphragm is maintained in its one control position. The diaphragm can control a microswitch which in turn can control any desired operation such as shut-off of delivery. A plurality of tubes can be connected in parallel with their terminal ends in different liquid containers.

摘要： Drying rollers for use in the dryer section of an automatic X-ray or other film developing machine which incorporates a pair of tangentially contacting, thermoplastic, micro-porous rollers which form a nip therebetween to receive the developed film from the wash tank. The rollers serve to dry the film surface by absorbing the moisture into the roller pores by capillary action. The usual dryer section heater continuously dries the rollers as they are rotated in the dryer section when the film travels through the developing apparatus.

摘要： A method and apparatus for coating a substrate with alkaline or alkaline earth metals is disclosed. The apparatus includes a reservoir to contain a melt of the metal, means for breaking the melt into fine droplets, and means for advancing a substrate having a surface to be coated along a path past the means for breaking the melt into fine droplets which contact the surface and provide a coating of the desired thickness. The apparatus coats the substrate in a pure inert gas environment. Use of the above apparatus provides a method for coating an alkaline or an alkaline earth metal onto a substrate to be realized.

摘要： A color printing control system for making prints from negatives having a color printer and a microprocessor. The output of photocells which read color negatives is applied to the microprocessor enabling it to calculate print time signals. These signals are applied, for example, to paddles and move them into the light path to terminate light exposure. A print test probe reads the density of the prints and is coupled to the microprocessor and forms a feedback loop which allows the microprocessor to adjust its internal values. In this manner, color balancing is performed and prints made from over and underexposed negatives have the same density as properly exposed negatives, without knowledge of paper characteristics and without operator setup calculations. This is achieved using the difference in density between a reference print and prints made by the system as a basis for calculating correction factors which are applied to such values as slope to cause subsequent print time signals to result in correct density. The system also corrects color predominance in negatives where the conventional integration to gray method would print incorrectly. In cases where color analysis indicates the possibility of exposure under tungsten or fluorescent light an operator prompt is provided allowing the operator to enable an appropriate correction.

摘要： In an automatic film processing machine a special film guidance apparatus is mounted ahead of the first processing tank to determine the paths along which the various film strips are introduced into the processing machine. The film guidance apparatus has transport rollers forming at least one nip, in front of which there are vanes spaced apart across the width of the transport rollers. These vanes subdivide the space in front of the nip into several channels, with sidewalls formed by the vanes. Each individual vane can be flipped into or out of the path of the film as that film is introduced between the vanes, and then into the nip of the rollers, for conveyance to the first processing tank of the machine. The machine operator is quickly and easily able to adjust the widths of the film insertion channels to accommodate film strips of different widths, which may then be processed side-by-side through the automatic processing machine without risk of interference with each other or with machine operation. An auxiliary roller aids in unrolling the film strips from their conventional spiral configuration.
