    Abstract: A touch input device includes an organic light emitting display module; a pressure sensor including a pressure electrode outputting a first sensing signal for detecting a touch pressure and which is attached under the organic light emitting display module; a touch sensor including drive electrodes to which a driving signal is applied and receiving electrodes outputting a second sensing signal for detecting a touch position; and a substrate located under the organic light emitting display module. The substrate is spaced apart from the organic light emitting display module and includes a reference potential layer. A controller detects a magnitude of the touch pressure based on the first sensing signal. The organic light emitting display module is bent by the touch pressure. A distance between the pressure electrode and the reference potential layer is changed according to a bending of the organic light emitting display module.

    Abstract: A touch input device includes a display module, a substrate for blocking electrical noise or for separating the display module from a circuit board or battery for operation of the touch input device, and a first electrode disposed on the display module and a second electrode disposed on the substrate. A spacer layer is disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. A pressure magnitude of the touch is detected based on a capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The capacitance is changed depending on the distance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The display module is bent by the touch, and the distance between the first electrode and the second electrode is changed due to the bending of the display module. The first electrode is disposed on a bendable surface of the display module.

    Abstract: A smartphone may include a first cover layer and an LCD panel located under the first cover layer. The smartphone may include a backlight unit which may be located under the LCD panel. The smartphone may include a touch sensor which may sense touch in a capacitive manner. The backlight unit may include a pressure sensor and a spacer layer. The pressure sensor may include one or more electrodes formed in a single layer attached on the second cover layer and spaced apart from the reflective sheet. A driving signal may be applied to the touch sensor. A touch position may be detected by a sensing signal which may be output from the touch sensor. A magnitude of a touch pressure may be detected based on a change amount of capacitance which may be output from the pressure sensor.

    Abstract: A touch input device capable of detecting a touch pressure is provided that includes: a display module having a pressure electrode which is formed on a back side of the display panel and is for detecting the pressure; and a reference potential layer which is formed separately from the pressure electrode. The touch input device detects the touch pressure on the basis of a capacitance change amount according to a change of a distance between the pressure electrode and the reference potential layer. As a result of this, the touch input device becomes thinner, has a reduced manufacturing cost thereof, and detects a touch position and touch pressure without deteriorating the visibility and optical transmittance of the display module.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a touch input device includes a first electrode; a second electrode located on one side of the first electrode; a display disposed on one side of the first electrode opposite to the second electrode; and a spacer layer between the first electrode and the second electrode. One of the first electrode and the second electrode is a drive electrode, and the other is a receiving electrode that receives the drive signal by a mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. When an external pressure is applied to the first electrode through the display, the first electrode is concavely bent toward the second electrode. The mutual capacitance between the electrodes changes according to a distance between the electrodes. The magnitude of the external pressure according to the change of the capacitance between the electrodes is detected.
