    摘要： A display device includes a display having a group of scanning electrodes disposed in a horizontal direction, a group of signal electrodes disposed in a vertical direction, and a liquid crystal with a memory disposed therebetween. The groups of scanning and signal electrodes are opposed to each other and are spaced apart by a predetermined spacing. The display device also includes a mode memory for storing data relating to the selection of a block access mode, in which the scanning electrodes are driven for every block, each block including a plurality of scanning electrodes, and a line access mode, in which the scanning electrodes are driven for every line of the scanning electrodes. Also provided are a device for supplying access data to designate a line of the scanning electrodes to be accessed, a frame data memory for storing data to form a frame on the display means when the block or line access mode is selected, a signal electrode drive for driving the signal electrodes, a scanning electrode drive the scanning electrodes in accordance with the data stored in the memory in response to the supplying of access data from the supply device, and a frame drive for forming a frame in accordance with the data stored in the frame data memory in response to the selection of the block or line access mode.

The playback speed determining unit determines a playback speed used for performing slow playback on video that is currently being played back by using a frame rate of the video that is currently being played back and the playback speed information for slow playback. A decoding unit executes selection and interpolation of output frames of video data that is currently being played back and adjustment of output timing so that the video is played back at the determined slow playback speed.

    摘要： A video processing apparatus determines whether a video signal of a predetermined resolution is a pseudo-resolution video signal generated from a video signal of resolution lower than the predetermined resolution. The video processing apparatus generates a first frequency histogram relating to a video signal of a first resolution among a plurality of video signals which are identical in contents and different from one another in resolution and a second frequency histogram relating to a video signal of a second resolution which is lower than the first resolution, compares the first frequency histogram with the second frequency histogram, compares a similarity between the first frequency histogram and the second frequency histogram with a predetermined threshold value, and determines, if the similarity is equal to or less than the predetermined threshold value, that the video signal of the first resolution is a pseudo-resolution video signal.
