Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to gaming systems and, in particular, to back-betting within a gaming system. As an example, a back-betting system is disclosed to include a first communication interface that facilitates machine-to-machine communications with an Electronic Gaming Machine (EGM) of a gaming system, where the first communication interface is used to exchange state-of-play information with the EGM. The system is also disclosed to include a second communication interface that facilitates machine-to-machine communications with a mobile device, where the second communication interface is used to exchange back-bet wager information and deliver an indication of an outcome of a back-bet placed during a back-betting session established with the mobile device. The system may still further include a processor and a computer-readable storage medium with processor-executable instructions that limit a duration of the back-betting session based on an association existing between the EGM and the mobile device.

Abstract: A gaming system, computer-implemented method and gaming device are provided. A gaming system includes a processor circuit, a memory coupled to the processor circuit. The memory includes machine-readable instructions that cause the processor circuit to provide, to a user, video of a streaming sporting event to a display device of a gaming device. A graphical user interface is generated on the display device and receives inputs from the user that correspond to a wager. A first wager input is received that selects a sporting event component of the wager in the streaming sporting event using the video of the streaming sporting event. A second wager input that identifies an action component of the wager is received. The action component defines a predicted occurrence that the user wagers will occur relative to the sporting event component in a future portion of the streaming sporting event.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, apparatus and systems, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for authenticating data for playing a game of chance on a gaming machine. A motherboard is provided in the gaming machine. A peripheral component is in communication with the motherboard over a bus. The peripheral component has access to authentication code in a memory. An authentication instruction message is received over the bus. Responsive to receiving the authentication instruction message, the authentication code is executed on a processor to perform an authentication process on the data. A signal is output, indicating whether the authentication process is successful in authenticating the data. In one implementation, the signal enables play of the game of chance on the gaming machine when the authentication process is successful, and disables play of the game of chance when the authentication process is unsuccessful.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to gaming systems and methods that that integrate competitive betting and interactive gaming functions in a single gaming device. The gaming device allows a player to place a bet on a competitive contest as well as play a casino game at the gaming device at the same time. The presentation output and behavior of the casino game played on the gaming device are based on events associated with the competitive contest, as the events happen in real time. In one example, the gaming device alters a display of elements in the casino game based on an event in the competitive contest. In another example, the gaming device, alters the scoring behavior or speed of the casino game based on an event in the competitive contest. Aspects of the present disclosure provide an enhanced gaming experience tied to sports betting at a gaming device.
