摘要： The present invention provides improved methods and compositions for cementing pipe strings in well bores. The methods of the invention are basically comprised of preparing a cement composition comprised of a hydraulic cement, an epoxy resin, a hardening agent for the epoxy resin and sufficient water to form a pumpable slurry. Thereafter, the cement composition is introduced into the annulus between a pipe string and a well bore and the cement composition is allowed to set into a resilient impermeable solid mass.

摘要： The present invention provides methods of sealing conduits in multi-lateral wells whereby the sealant can withstand stress induced conduit movements without failure. The methods basically include the steps of preparing a hardenable epoxy composition having flexibility and resiliency upon hardening including an epoxide containing liquid or an epoxy resin and an epoxide containing liquid and a hardening agent. The epoxy composition is placed into a lateral well bore between a conduit therein and the walls of the lateral well bore and allowed to harden therein.

Saltwater cement compositions comprising saltwater, a cement, a latex, a first latex stabilizer comprising a surfactant having the formula: R—O—(OCH2CH2)mXM wherein R is an alkyl group having in the range of from about 10 carbons to about 20 carbons, m is an integer in the range of from about 10 to about 40, X is OSO3 or SO3, and M is a compatible cation, and a second latex stabilizer comprising an alcohol ether sulfate having the formula: R1—O—(OCH2CH2)nOSO3M wherein R1 is an alkyl group having in the range of from about 4 carbons to about 12 carbons, n is an integer in the range of from about 1 to about 10, and M is a compatible cation.

In certain exemplary embodiments, the improved lost circulation materials include inelastic particles of polyethylene, polystyrene and/or polypropylene. Optionally, the cement compositions also may include additives such as fly ash, a surfactant, a dispersant, a fluid loss control additive, a conventional lost circulation material, an generator, a retarder, a salt, a mica, fiber, a formation-conditioning agent, fumed silica, bentonite, expanding additives, microspheres, weighting materials, or a defoamer.

The compositions are basically comprised of a hydraulic cement, sufficient water to form a slurry and an additive for providing improved rheology, fluid loss control and set retardation comprised of carboxymethylhydroxyethylcellulose having in the range of from about 0.62 to about 2.21 moles of hydroxyethyl substitution and in the range of from about 0.44 to about 0.52 degrees of carboxymethyl substitution and a 2% by weight aqueous solution of the carboxymethylhydroxyethylcellulose has a Höppler viscosity in the range of from about 55 mPa.s to about 359 mPa.s.
