摘要:
Format of a downlink control channel for a user equipment UE is changed in conjunction with switching the UE between being enabled for cross carrier scheduling and being disabled for cross carrier scheduling. The changed format is used on at least one serving cell of the UE's configured set of component carriers CCs. In one embodiment the changed format comprises an explicit carrier indicator field CIF for the case in which the switching is from disabled to enabled; and the changed format has no explicit CIF when the switching is from enabled to disabled. In another embodiment switching from disabled to enabled comprises the UE's configured set of CCs being changed from one to multiple cells; and switching from enabled to disabled comprises the UE's configured set of CCs being changed from multiple cells to one cell. In one embodiment the changed format is implicit.

A method is described which provides a synchronized HO of a mobile device. The method includes receiving a HO command. A determination is made of whether the HO command includes an indication of UL resource allocations. A C-RNTI is waited for in DL signaling if the HO command does not include the indication of UL resource allocations. If the HO command includes the indication of UL resource allocations, transmitting occurs based on the UL resource allocations. The method may be performed as a result of execution of computer program instructions stored in a computer readable memory medium. An apparatus is also described.

In one exemplary embodiment, a method including: receiving an intra- frequency cell re-selection indicator in combination with physical cell identity split information from a closed subscriber group cell or a macro cell, where the intra-frequency cell re-selection indicator is indicative of whether or not a mobile station is allowed to camp on a cell that is not ranked as best; and making an intra-frequency cell selection/re-selection decision based on the received intra-frequency cell re-selection indicator and the physical cell identity split information.

A method, apparatus, software product, and network element enable a user equipment to operate in an idle mode, to sense a change in the broadcasted location area, and to then report that change to a network without requiring a dedicated connection to the network. This embodiment is achieved by sending an identifier via an uplink transport channel, and then the user equipment receives a resource allocation that is based at least partly on the identifier. The user equipment provides an uplink signal via the allocated resource, including a user equipment identity in the uplink signal. When the user equipment receives confirmation, including the user equipment identity, then the user equipment reenters the idle mode. The uplink signal provided an update as to the location area of the user equipment, although other types of signals can instead be provided this way to the network.

In accordance with aspects of the present invention, a method, apparatus and system for non-contention based handover based on pre-reserved target cell uplink allocations in communication systems. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a transceiver (760) configured to communicate with a source base station and a data processor (750) coupled to the transceiver (760). The data processor (750) is configured to produce a measurement report based on a signal received from the source base station, initiate transmission of the measurement report to the source base station, process a handover command received from the source base station, and enable transmission of access bursts to a target base station in a reserved window of time on an uplink shared channel.
